China has given the world a blunt choice by asking global leaders to choose between Xi Jinping's global outlook and that of US President Donald Trump.
In a strongly worded editorial by the state's news agency, Beijing said the world needed to choose between "two fundamentally different outlooks" which included the Chinese President's shared future and Trump's America First policy.
The commentary, by Xinhua, comes as global leaders and policy makers gather in the Swiss town of Davos for the World Economic Forum which draws to a close on Friday, reports News.com.au.
Trump has already attended a gala reception and dinner with European business chiefs.
The US President is due to address the forum on its closing day at the end of a week that saw his administration announce a new package of trade tariffs targeting China and South Korea, and spark upheaval on the currency markets.
The glitzy annual gathering at a Swiss Alpine resort has drawn politicians, CEOs and celebrities to ponder public policy and global co-operation for more than 50 years.
Xi last year delivered the first address by a Chinese leader at the forum where he took up the torch of global trade to the delight of the well-heeled audience then anxious about Trump's inauguration.
He was absent from this year's forum, but that didn't stop China from delivering its own message to the world.
Xinhua said the world can either choose between China's vision or Trump's "self-centred America First policy (which) has led his country away from multiple multilateral pacts and infused anxiety into both allies and the broader world".
During the US election campaign, Trump was outspoken about his opposition to Beijing's global trade policy.
In 2016 he told a rally in Indiana the country was responsible for "the greatest trade theft in the history of the world".
"We can't continue to allow China to rape our country, and that's what we're doing," he told the crowd.
Beijing has made no secret of its ambitious plans for global growth in the past.
In a 3 ½ hour speech given while opening a five-yearly national congress in October last year, Xi set out his country's ambitious plans to become the world's biggest superpower within the next 30 years.
It's amazing how just one term of the presidency can open so many doors for people to degrade the standing of the US. It's darkly humorous how everyone else in the world can see our current president as the fool that he is, but still so many people in the country are willingly blind to it.
Anyone got any good resources for learning mandarin?

I'll stick with the US thanks, at least we don't have organ harvesting buses driving around.
was only a matter of time, someone predicted this to me 12 year ago. She told me there would be a black president and then the next president would be our last one.. lolol something about the world ending. I didnt listen to anymore of what she said because it scared the crap out of me and thought she was full of it.
Then we elected a black president and other things happened that she said.. good luck everyone :v:

This China thing was happening anyway, regardless of president, China is making moves that no one can ignore.
I'll be sticking with the US thanks. Trump is a four year problem, the problems with China will last a lot longer.

Sure, if Europe actually cared about anything outside of Europe.

They certainly care about the political (in)stability in the US as well as the long-lasting civil war in Middle East.
Your statement is just not true.

They care, just like we all do, but until the EU more or less becomes one country with a combined view of global foreign policy, it won't ever have the influence of the US or China, and neither the military capacity to back that up. Europe is very inward looking compared to the US and China as its dealing with many internal issues which have taken precedence over a 'combined foreign policy'.

That's of course what I meant. EU as a decentralized confederation, not in it's current state.
No it's not us or them. This is Trump or Xianping. Just two people bickering.

Do not argue with Boilrig for your own sanity, he is a euroskeptic shill who views the letters E and U combined with such fervent hatred you might aswell have typed "neurosyphilis".

It's still a shorter term problem than the PRC.
The PRC isn't going to reform in 8 years, if at all.

anicdotally, for a number of ardent trump supporters, he's one long joke that ran well past the punchline. all the stupid shi, all the chaos, all the degrading of the fed, they love it, its fucking hillarious that the government is being screwed with, and they'll vote for seconds and thirds because they can't see more than 2 inches in front of them and they've been convinced the government is the big problem and that its full of liberals.
What's that about?
Basically, Lethal Injection on wheels.
After the prisoner is executed, the organs are then harvested.
I side with Australia.
The spiders are on my side now. I win.
Yeah, given a choice between China and the US as a world leader to take us into the next century, I'd still prefer the US even if it's currently headed by a deranged fruitbat. China basically does what China wants, will get what China wants and remarkably singular about doing things that will benefit themselves and fuck everyone else. This is how it's always been with them.
That having been said, this is just a commentary from the state news agency, which is more of a shoutey voice for the sake of their people. Full of snark for the way of other countries, not one word about the rot pervasive within their own. Take it with a gigantic heaping of salt.
Trump may be causing lots of issues for the US and foreign relations, but china's "quality" of life is pure shit. Doesn't seem to be once ounce of respect for life there, animal or human.

I read the case of the billionaire that ordered a hit.
"China! Everyone gets executed!"
