All of this information has been posted before, but at least the company put it in an organized list for you. It’s below. Xbox One is out November 22. You can buy your games on disc, or download them. Your downloadable games will be available to you on any Xbox One. You can trade, rent, sell, gift or loan any game disc. It works just like it does today for Xbox 360. You can purchase a game digitally and start playing while it downloads. You can play games online or offline – it’s up to you. You can check your favorite team’s score on Live TV, answer a call with Skype or go to grab snacks while in the midst of battle. With Xbox One – you can suspend and resume gameplay instantly. You can sign in to any Xbox One and instantly access your personal profile, downloadable games, preferences and favorites. With Home Gold, anyone in your family can access top Xbox Live Gold benefits on your Xbox One, such as multi-player and entertainment apps.
title made me think that it would be really dumb but it's actually cool
A...Pause button? Sounds fishy.
Am I missing something here or couldn't we do this since forever.
title made me think that it would be really dumb but it's actually cool
It's the console equivalent to alt tabbing.
Am I missing something here or could we do this since forever.
They should have worded it better. It's like alt tabbing out of a game to check something.
about 25 years late to multitasking, consoles! [sp]jk[/sp]
Yeah the title kinda omits the "and launch another program (Microsoft would have us call them apps I guess?)" bit.
Doesn't the PS4 have this too? Hardly an innovation..
Yeah the title kinda omits the "and launch another program (Microsoft would have us call them apps I guess?)" bit.
yeah well so does their promo image
This ad is pretty important. I'm still meeting people that don't know about the DRM shift.
I love how half the points on that image are just to reiterate that they reversed their initial policies, because it just goes to show how catastrophically they were received.
Doesn't the PS4 have this too? Hardly an innovation..
I don't defend the Xbox One on a lot of things, but are you being serious right now? The PS4 isn't out either, so saying IT ISN'T AN INNOVATION BECAUSE PS4 DOES IT TOO is kind of retarded.
sounds like they finally found someone who knows what people want out of an x-bone
So is this just a normal pause button or does it act like the 3DS home button that actually suspends software?
Meh. It's not total shit anymore, but they still aren't really bringing anything new to the table, other than all the media shit they're trying to push. I'm still leaning towards getting a PS4 if I ever do get another console.
"You can play games online or offline, it's up to you!" It's sad that they actually have to say this nowadays.
This ad is pretty important. I'm still meeting people that don't know about the DRM shift.
It's a shame that most Xbox One PR is just mopup for the shitstorm they generated when they announced it, but honestly MS have no one to blame but themselves.
Am I missing something here or couldn't we do this since forever.
Suspend and resume. Think of it like sleep mode for the console as opposed to just pausing.
Suspend and resume. Think of it like sleep mode for the console as opposed to just pausing.
It's more like alt-tabbing tbh
"Play your games while downloading" Enjoy your corrupted downloads and saves.
You can do this alt-tabbing pause on the Vita. Or do handhelds not count?
So is this just a normal pause button or does it act like the 3DS home button that actually suspends software?
It suspends software to get back to the home screen to do stuff on. And maybe it'll be more useful than the 3DS's which doesn't let you do anything really on the homescreen, and be more like the Vita's.
You can do this alt-tabbing pause on the Vita. Or do handhelds not count?
My android phone can do that too.
nice resolution on the game covers in that image
"Anything Xbox One does is dumb and Playstation does it better."
... EVERY console could do this. Even if it's advertising multitasking, any console that can multitask can also pause games whilst doing so...
doesn't pretty much every game on the PS3/360/Wii/WiiU already do this when you press the home button?
With Home Gold, anyone in your family can access top Xbox Live Gold benefits on your Xbox One, such as multi-player and entertainment apps.

**Home Gold benefits limited to single Xbox One in Gold member's home; restrictions apply.
So basically they're just polishing a turd and saying anyone using your gold membership account can access gold membership benefits :v:
The Wii could pause during gameplay and do stuff like manage your controllers. The Wii U could do this and browse web and stuff too.
