worlds most expensive penny: shouldn't it be like 1 cent or something?
You couldn't have posted some pictures and some info? Just a link? Really?
worlds most expensive penny: shouldn't it be like 1 cent or something?
A simple-minded person such as you, who sees coins as no more than spare change, will not understand the significance of such a piece.
Valued at 6.6 million, sold for about 7 million or so. Said to be about 10 more possibly? (although the article was written in 2009 so who knows how many are left..) Pretty interesting actually. My friend showed me this article a few months ago. [editline]08:58PM[/editline]
god i need to find one of those coins
lets start a search party. ill look in my house you look in the rest of the world. we split 50/50.
i really do want the doube eagle coin, so i can pay off my debts and student loans lol :keke:
What about those gold coins found under the sea?
A simple-minded person such as you, who sees coins as no more than spare change, will not understand the significance of such a piece.
These coins have value, but not significance
worlds most expensive penny: shouldn't it be like 1 cent or something?
Yeah, the problem with your shitty joke is the fact that when it comes to mere currency value, they're absolutely worthless because they're not in use anymore. Apart from the extremely paltry value of the metals, they are expensive because they have significant historical value.

The reason why they're so expensive is not because academics are interested, but because people with more money than sense like to try and outbid eachother for the right to throw them into a private collection.

Though this is true in some cases. Besides, there's a shitload more coin collectors than collectors of just about anything else.
I got a small collection of coins (none really important). A new addition from two days ago is my first Silver Penny from 1943. :D
:v: [release]At 220 pounds the largest, purest and highest denomination gold coin in the world, with a face value of one million dollars but a probable value of almost 3 million dollars, is 99.999% pure gold and was unveiled by the Royal Canadian Mint on May 3rd 2007. The big coin is 20 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick, weighs 220-pound and takes about six weeks to manufacture. [/release]

Holy shit I think I actually have some of these  [editline]10:28AM[/editline] Shit no I don't :smith:
Son of a bitch, I have that but it's a 1911 not 1913. :crying:
Hahaha, that's unfortunate.

Unless you just mean just a 1911 nickel in which case, lol.
I have a large coin collection somewhere that my grandfather left me a long time ago... I'll have to go see if he's got anything listed.
worlds most expensive penny: shouldn't it be like 1 cent or something?
2 cents
I have a pretty blackened 1776 "Washington & Independance" dollar, but I've never been able to find anywhere to value it. It's probably worth something...

A simple-minded person such as you, who sees coins as no more than spare change, will not understand the significance of such a piece.
These coins have value, but not significance
the other way around
if they didn't have value then they wouldn't be so expensive
I have a pretty blackened 1776 "Washington & Independance" dollar, but I've never been able to find anywhere to value it. It's probably worth something...
Interesting, when you find the price, please post.
:aaaaa:
every single person who browsed this article imagined themselves having the double eagle coin and selling it on ebay.
No, no they didn't.
No, no they didn't.
Me = Alpha & Omega ok
i will sell OP a 20p coin for a fiver
if they didn't have value then they wouldn't be so expensive
No, they have value because they have a lot of significance. IE A penny of those wouldn't worth shit according to the current exchange, but its significance gives it a high price.
