After weeks of rumours it’s finally official—Ricky Gervais will be back to host the Golden Globes for a third year.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association voted for the controversial British comedian’s return after meeting with NBC official Doug Vaughn.
While many welcome Gervais’s return, not everyone is happy with the decision because last year his blunt one-liners targeting big-name celebrities caused anger and resentment in some quarters. After the show Gervais dismissed the possibility of coming back for a third time, but he gradually warmed to the idea and last month met with HFPA President Dr. Aida Takla-O’Reilly in Paris to discuss it. He said recently that the idea of going back behind the podium “is very tempting”.
The Golden Globes awards ceremony, which will be televised worldwide, will be held on January 15 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
He was hilarious the first time, and is the only reason I even watched it, so I hope this will be as good.
Although they'll probably force him to tone down the jokes, which would suck to be honest.
For those who have no idea what this is about:

I remember him. He made his first funny joke last week.

I remember you, you're just another stupid shit who can't accept people are different.
People find things funny, just because you don't doesn't mean anything.
Ricky Gervais is really hit and miss, but I like him overall
I find him funny sometimes, just like most comedians. I don't always share everyone's sense of humor so they aren't all ways funny to me

Same here, as far as english comedians out there, there's a much better roster out there.
But I do love me some Office.
Honestly, I usually find him too obnoxious, but how he took the piss out of the big Hollywood stars at the Golden Globes was something different

I don't know why Americans kicked up such a fuss about it. In England his jokes on there were considered extremely tame.
ricky gervais is funny as fuck
Probably still won't watch it, as I most of those award shows too glamorous and "fake" to bare. I feel good about it though, as Ricky is a very deserving and funny guy.

no americans kicked up a fuss
news outlets needed a story so they created an illusion that people were extremely offended

dont know where you got that info but nobody was getting upset about it
unless you were listening to an american news outlet on it (which you shouldnt even take seriously, it's basically reality tv over here)
ricky gervais is awful
though compared to most american comedians he's fucking fantastic, go ricky
never been a fan of him
then again what are the golden globe awards anyway

Basically its a show where the highest grossing things get awards.
His response on twitter
“Just told Billy Crystal he’d better not use any of my holocaust or pedophile material at The Oscars. He agreed (true).”
Ricky Gervais is awesome. More so when he's pissing people off.
Karl should at least present something.
I'm expecting someone to say something like "HAHAHa 69 :PPP"
That Gervais golden globes video was fucking hilarious hahaha
HAHAHa 69 :PPP
I'm not a big fan of ricky overall but i do like some of his stand up.
Personally i think the best thing he's ever done is find karl, who is funny as fuck.
I don't understand Ricky Gervais. I haven't found a single thing he's done funny and I don't understand the attention he brings.
I think him and Karl Pilkington should host it together.
It was nice having him bash hollywood the way that he did. They're all rich as fuck for no real reason and sit on a high horse. Very few of them know anything outside of their dressing room and TMZ. So it was refreshing to have Gervais up there sayin' what we normal people think. And it was all in good light hearted fun anyway. They're bringing him back because they know it's going to pull in the ratings big time
Ricky seems like a snide, little prick of a man, but his comedy is funny(ish) though.
I love watching his stuff, I don't know.
I like most comedians, I just want to laugh.

Hate to be "That Guy" But if you listen to the Ricky Gervais Show podcast. he's actually quite mellow, Although he is mean to Karl.
I prefer Stephen Merchant.

:10bux: there will be atleast 10 agrees on this post, and they will all be because of Portal 2.
fun fact: stephen merchant's brand of comedy is startlingly different to Portal 2.
