Fucking Gosby Newsman is at it again First you ruin JBmod then this
More news on what exactly happened would be nice
Can I find out why a project was suspended? No. For legal and privacy reasons, Kickstarter does not comment on moderator actions.
More news on what exactly happened would be nice
Some people tried making a weird modding platform called GMOD, it entered in conflict with some other thing no one has ever heard of called Garry's Mod, and this happened
Yer a wizard garry
Looks like there PAX party has been cancelled.
Let's be honest guys, kickstarter funding or not, what a colossal failure would it have been to have a subscription base mod manager that has ripped code.
terrorists win
They still haven't commented on the suspension
Let's be honest guys, kickstarter funding or not, what a colossal failure would it have been to have a subscription base mod manager that has ripped code.
Well you have to pay for Garry's Mod and look how successful it i-oh wait I guess you're right then
Destroy all opposition, death to the false gmod.
They still haven't commented on the suspension
If it was requested by the owner it is most likely about changing the name. welp 14k down the drain gj no idea what kickstarter reasons would have been tho.
If it was requested by the owner it is most likely about changing the name. welp 14k down the drain gj no idea what kickstarter reasons would have been tho.
nah, canceled kickstarters say canceled this is kickstarter ending it without their approval owned
rip
More news on what exactly happened would be nice
They're trademark trolls
They have the legal trademark for GMOD and even threatened to sue Garry, they were well aware and had the rights for all
I assume garry won because his game has been around for quite a while now as opposed to GMOD. And Garry doesn't actually own any trademark for GMod as it's just an abbreviation of Garry's Mod, so this wasn't a copyright infringement battle, probably just Kickstarter not wanting to trigger a legal battle is all.
If it was requested by the owner it is most likely about changing the name. welp 14k down the drain gj no idea what kickstarter reasons would have been tho.
They don't receive a penny and nobody loses a dime.
They have the legal trademark for GMOD and even threatened to sue Garry, they were well aware and had the rights for all
IIRC copyright law and trademarks are more to do with what people associate with the name/product than what name you fill out on a form. I know very little about copyright law so I am likely to be wrong.
It was doomed on its maiden fundraiser
It's because it's Nexus, mods and all with a shitty UI and forced paid subscription.
It's a shame, you can tell these guys worked really hard for a couple weekends on this.
It's a shame, you can tell these guys worked really hard for a couple weekends on this.
Don't forget the hour and a half lunch breaks!
I feel like this wouldn't have happened if they hadn't tried to sue garry.
I feel like this wouldn't have happened if they hadn't tried to sue garry.
no one fucks with the newMAN and gets away with it
Even if it wasn't suspended I guessed that it wouldn't be able to launch because there were 17 days left and they raised like $7,000, so it was likely not going to happen anyway.
If they were serious about it they could have avoided the whole mess if they changed their name, that would not excuse them for having a damn subscription based model for a client that only installs mods though :v:.
It's probably because they suspected that a lot of the backers actually worked for the company, remember, in the other thread garry posted they had worked things out. [editline]asdas[/editline] hell, I even said in that thread the +1K pledges were probably done by employees
I feel like this wouldn't have happened if they hadn't tried to sue garry.
I haven't been following the drama, but I thought they were still trying to come up with an amicable solution?
I haven't been following the drama, but I thought they were still trying to come up with an amicable solution?
Nope, garry said they worked things out
Good riddance.
