My PC setup right now:
BFG Tech GTX295
ASUS EN9600GT (dedicated physX card)
Three 24" monitors, each 1920x1080 (total resolution 5760x1080)
Intel Corei7 920
PC Power & Cooling 750W PSU
Lexa Blackline case
With this setup, I am unable to use nvidia's 2D surround, so what's the point in having three monitors?
Anyways:
I'm considering getting (a) new graphics card(s) around Christmas time.
The way I look at it, I have two options:
[b]Just buy another GTX295 somewhere[/b]; ebay has them for ~$300-$400.
I have a BFG Tech one, however, and since they closed their GPU department or something I'm guessing it's probably going to be harder to buy another one, and I they don't honor their warranties anymore, from what I've read.
A 2nd '295 would allow me to use nvidia's 2D surround, and obviously have a big performance increase.

Before you tell me this is going to cost way more, which it normally would, keep in mind that I have $350 on a gift card for Future Shop, so it would probably cost me about the same as the first option.
I would again be able to use nvidia's 2D surround, but also I would be able to use DX11 (not really that important to me).
I'm leaning towards getting the 470's, because they wouldn't be bought used by someone on eBay, and they'd have DX11. Also, I really wanted to, (but probably never will,) I could buy a third 470 one a year or two from now.
Due to having awesome family members, I could [i]probably[/i] ask for a GTX470 for Christmas and [i]might[/i] get one. But that would = no other Christmas presents. They're awesome, but they're not made of money.
Questions:
1. How do two GTX295's compare, performance-wise, to 2 GTX470's? Google hasn't been of much help.
2. Can anyone suggest a better alternative? Keep in mind I have $350 for Future Shop, so getting my shit there would be optimal.
3. I'm guessing I'll need a bigger power supply?

Might do this as long as Future Shop gets them. I've never actually used ATI cards before. :P
I agree with Sackboy, wait for the new 6xxx series from ATI, should come out before 2011.
