• How can I test the capabilities and find out where I need to improve my computer

So, I built my computer a few months ago. Not very good with computers but fairly interested. My aim is not to get every drop of performance out of my machine. I dont want it to be like a chinese sweatshop worker. But I do want to improve it so that it can play good games at a high level of detail on a big (1920x1080) screen. My Specs i5 3570k (upped to 4.2ghz in bios) 8gb Vengence EVGA GTX 670 Asus Maximus Formula V 750w Corsair Enthusiast TX75 How would I go about testing and seeing where I should improve? I know its mostly going to be to do with the CPU and GPU. If I max my settings on DayZ I end up on around 24FPS. Id like to be able to play future games as well, namely Arma3. I am already planning on getting another 2 sticks of RAM, taking it up to 16gb, for when I do some rendering. I assume the PSU is more than adequate but I dont know how to differentiate between the CPU and GPU when it comes down to trying to improve gaming performace. Help would be really appreciated.
Eh those specs seem pretty darn good. As far as I'm aware ARMA 2 is quite an unoptimized game so DayZ will run a bit slow on Max settings, however you seem to be well over the recommended specs for ARMA 2 http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=5471 Seemingly, I don't know whether these recommended specs for ARMA 3 are accurate, but you seem to be good for ARMA 3 too http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=1855&game=ArmA III In any case, if you did want a performance improvement, CPU and GPU are the main areas for now. Your RAM should keep you going for a few years. If you're currently using a normal Hard drive, you could consider switching to an SSD, at least for storing Windows. Windows will boot up much faster and things will seem a lot more responsive. Also if you want to squeeze the best performance out of your graphics card, you should try the Nvidia BETA drivers (right click the nvidia icon in the task tray, go on update preferences, and tick include beta updates, then do another check for updates). I've never had any problems with the BETA drivers, but if you do have any problems, you can switch back at any time

So is Arma although thats not the kind of performance boost im looking for really. I just want to hit a very good level of stable FPS whilst putting games on 'high'. I was also wondering how much of a difference I could expect to get if I went SLI with another GTX670. Would this take me to the next level in terms of detail/quality within games.
I also remembered that Windows has a built in performance checker and will tell you which parts of your hardware are worse than others. You should get a large difference with another one of those cards in SLI since it's pretty much double the amount of power. It should take you to the next level of detail definitely
Arma II and dayz run like a sack of shit on any hardware. Really unoptimised. Any other game it would max without breaking a sweat
Update graphics dricers is really the only thing that is needed. Arma2 and dayz just run like shit all the time.
Make sure you defrag your HDD because ARMA is HDD dependent, as odd as that sounds. You should be able to run at fairly high settings.
