I cannot decide whether to buy the AMD FX-4350 or the AMD FX-8150. Or even the AMD FX-8350 or AMD FX-8320. So far the votes are: AMD FX-4350: 1 AMD FX-8150: 0 AMD FX-8320: 2 AMD FX-8350: 1
intel is much better, I'd really go for that another good sitehttp://www.anandtech.com/bench/CPU/2 albeit, can be more pricey, but, very good.
If you're going with AMD you should get either the FX 8320 or 8350, but I rather suggest getting an i5-4670k if you have a little more money to spend.

No shit, but if you're on a budget choosing AMD isnt a bad choice
FX-8320 is so fucking cheap, has 8 cores, can handle any game. What else do you want? You also won't really need to buy 8350, you can make 8350 out of 8320 by simple soft overclock to 4 GHz. Just get a decent cooler.

More like 4 with two logical cores per physical core. And their single core performance is so bad an i3 beats them out a majority of the time.
What about choosing a motherboard? Should I get one with a 990X chipset or a 990FX chipset? (With an FX-8350/FX-832, if it matters.) On the AMD website it says that they both are compatible with FX Series.

I have no idea where you're getting that info
So is there a better CPU for no more than $200?

My God have I heard this argument enough times. I'm just going to say this: according to benchmarks most modern and older games perform significantly better on Intel processors rather than AMD processors due to their high IPC (essentially single core performance) and lack of sharing cores amongst two threads. If you want to play your hand at predicting the future and grab an AMD processor for future games be my guest. I'm personally going to provide you with both options for your price range. I also recommend that if you go AMD you buy a heatsink, since the biggest advantage of going with a budget AMD processor for gaming is the ability to overclock. A hyper 212 evo will give you a nice light overclock without costing much. I'd also like to ask why you are even considering the 4350. That's like asking should I buy an i7-4960X or an i3-3220. The 4350 is a budget processor even for AMD, it's a very bad choice.
What gpu? The only options you should get are the 8320 and 6300. i3 is bad value(especially haswell), i5 is usually $200+ 4350 = slightly higher clocked 4300 8150 = slightly higher clocked outdated cpu 8320 = yes 8350 = slightly higher clocked 8320 Games are starting to use more threads(bf4 supports up to 6) What is your budget?
Intel will still win.
Got anything to back that up?
Got anything to back that up?
The only huge advantage Intel has is with single-threaded games, and AMD is still good for its price to performance. There isn't much of a reason to prefer either brand by eachother, it's mostly just a matter of budget.
I just want to know why Intel will win. It sounds like a dumb fanboyism.

I agree on Intel being better for the right price, but that doesn't make Intel an ultimate winner. Plus as I said, better singlethreaded performance won't matter soon.

Also I didn't know you could predict the future, what tomorrows lotto numbers, there is no way you can say for sure if it will matter or if it won't until that day comes and by that time there will be newer processors, you just can't say it won't matter because you don't know.
You're not going to be able to future-proof your systems and even so when we get to the point where multi-threaded games are in, the AMD processors of now will be pretty outdated.
Fine, Inter are fucking gods, their CPUs were made in heaven, AMD got nothing on them. All hail Intel. I'm done. TTFN.
i3 is better in singethreaded tasks but the 6300/8320 is better in multi and you can't overclock an i3
How did the question of choosing between four AMD CPUs go to an Intel vs AMD war? I'm not going to switch to Intel so it's completely irrelevant. I think I'm just gonna go with the FX-8320 and overclock it.
