• Do you think Mad Catz/Cyborg products suck?

Some "elite" gamers seem to hate all r.a.t. mouses for some reason. Why? Do you hate them? Why or why not? I had rat 5 for over a year now (i think) and it's great. I smashed it into the table couple of times and it still perfect because of metal base. It's easy to grip and use. Really good sensor in my opinion. The sniper/low-dpi/red (later on reffered to as "awesome" button) button is amazing while playing fps games. I like to play with high sensativity but for aiming I just hold down the "awesome" button and aim like a champ.
I also have had a RAT 5 gaming mouse for year. The main complaint I have is that the text and markings start to rub off which is really annoying considering it's meant to be mid-high tier gaming mouse. Other than that my mouse is fine. The "weights" don't seem to add any weight though.
The only Mad Catz product I've ever owned is a wireless PS2 controller. And it's been pretty sweet, even today (except for when the batteries run out, then I have to go look for AAs). I can't speak for newer products though.
I think people hate them, including me, because they're so goddamn ricer. Most people just want something that looks kinda cool but not some attention grabbing thing that looks like it was designed by a 13 year old

Transparent ones. Heck, the logo even was all fiber-optic. You can't tell me that's not supposed to be attention-grabbing.
Those Cyborg mice are just for the coolboys club. Their aesthetics add no value or whatsoever in usage or gameplay. Goes for the keyboards aswel.
The only personal experience I've had is with a RAT3, and that's been a good experience. It's been working perfectly for several years (outlasting 2 G500s and a Razer Deathadder) and still works great. My only complaint is that the rubber feet are now starting to wear off, but after 5 years of use that's unsurprising.
I enjoyed my Eclipse II's when I had them. I just agree that overall they are pretty ricer, but then again the new Logitech S series is pretty hideous too.
I never bought any of Mad Catz' PC stuff, but their controllers are like Russian Roullete with build quality.
I think it's because they're trying really hard to appeal to younger gamers/enthusiasts; whereas those of us who have been around the block a few times in terms of PC building, hardware/software, gaming, etc won't buy into pointless gimmicks. At a certain point you get over the stage of wanting obnoxiously bright LED fans and start settling with minimalist designs. This is why I love Corsair products so much. Even their more over the top towers still retain somewhat of a minimalist feel to it.

He actually managed to reconfigure and redesign my family's home network without very much help from me. Since my family is 6,000 miles away in Greece I'm not there to fix things like that so he's taken over the reigns.

Sitting on my system with a HAF 932 2x 80mm, 2x 120mm red and the standard 140mm. All in red LED and a Saitek cyborg Keyboard :v: Was built back in 2009, my first build so what do you expect. Still love the case after all these years (except it's half broken everywhere) and no reason to change the fans if they still work but would not hurt to have a computer that was a bit more quiet. In short. I want a new computer.
My first build was with a nonwindowed Bitfenix Shinobi. It's always nice having taste.
My brother has a RAT 5 and has given it extensive use and it hasnt given him any trouble and it has kept its pristine condition. No complaints here. Better then the CM Storm mouse he had before that. The metal on it has rusted and most the paint has come off.
I have the Eclipse II. Enjoyed it so much, used it for so long I decided to get the Eclipse III. Been on this keyboard for a long time now. Love it.
Their RetroCON controllers are really fucking slick.
I have a Mad Catz xbox controller. It's awful.
That look unbelivably bad to hold. And that D-pad seems appauling. AND WHAT ARE THE START/BACK BUTTONS DOING UP THERE!?

I have one of them. Ironically enough the official Microsoft controllers wire has split at the start from the controller whereas my Madcatz one hasn't. :v:
Mad Catz products seem to last a long time but just feel bad to use. I have a wireless ps2 controller made by Mad Catz and it's still going today.

Now i use a dualshock 3
I had a Mad Catz Original xbox controller. The analog sticks were clear but turned piss yellow after 4 years.
Had a Cyborg mouse (Not the RAT one) for ages, it broke and I got a corsair M60 which I love; Also had a Cyborg keyboard, but I spilt some water on that and fried it... So replaced it with the exact same one (http://www.cyborggaming.com/prod/v7keyboard.htm) I'm a big fan of them after using these two products, they're decent value (from Scan) for what you get.
the microsoft official controllers have never failed me, I don't know why you would pay for something that's basically the same design but a little worse
They're usually a lot cheaper or at least they used to be.
