For those who've had the chance to experience both, which is better?
IR and XR is irrelevant to my question.
i've got a bunch of dex (15mg) and i popped one normally, chewed one, then snorted one.
Popping normally has a longer onset, less intense come-up, but a longer duration.
snorting/parachuting shares a faster onset, intense come-up, better peak, but shorter duration and a worse comedown.
they're both dex amphetamine but apparently the high is noticeably different.
I've never had the chance to try Adderall but it sounds intriguing. Which is better?
Dextroamphetamines are much better alone than mixed with L amphetamines like how adderall is (which is d-amphetamine and L-amphetamine salt mixture).
iirc l-amphetamines are practically worthless
Not if you take enough :keke:
are you referring to l-amphetamines? because based on my research i've concluded they're pretty pointless as well, being less stimulating to the dopamine receptors than straight dex-amp.
Ive only had amphetamines in the form of name brand and generic adderall, so I couldnt say what the difference is. Im lookin forward to getting my 2 30mg addy xr caps today tho.
Another thing I wanted to mention is, your tolerance to amps is considerably higher than mine. I can snort 15mg and be on my way with 7.5mg lines as bumps.
mmm just parachuted 15mg of dex
Levoamphetamine is the isomer that produces the sweating, the cramping and a few other of the nasty side effects. Levoamphetamine is in adderall purely as an antabuse measure.
Dextroamphetamine is far nicer as is the case with most other drug's dextro isomer.
If you're trying to get shit done, adderall is the best productivity drug ever. If not, go for dexedrine.
I take Adderall because I actually have ADD.
i have adhd but all i get prescribed is concerta =[

A lot of people have undiagnosed ADD. I'm almost certain I do. I'm already on the spectrum so it's likely. Adderall does allow me to feel somewhat normal when I take it XR but I hate the appetite suppression.
if it "hurts" to pay attention you probably have ADD/ADHD. if it doesn't you probably don't
ADHD and ADD can be shown in fMRIs which now means it's no longer possible to call it fabricated if you have some intelligence. There are degrees of ADD/ADHD and most intellectuals in history have had one or the other to some level.
What i'm trying to say is that those on the lesser end of the spectrum of Attention disorders don't need meds. If it hurts to concentrate that's when you ask for meds, for anything less you can work that out in a therapeutic setting.
This is my informed medical opinion based off my knowledge attained from being in therapy all my life and reading up on this shit myself. If you want some addy for the fun of it, go right ahead and say what you need to to get some candy, but if you want to fix a problem like non-severe ADD like Dan describes i'd recommend therapy instead of that bandaid of a pill. pills just cover up symptoms, therapy heals and helps you work through it.
actually pills also can have a therapeutic use in that it shows the subject what it's like to be able to concentrate, almost like training wheels. You still need a therapist who specializes in Attention disorders though. a Therapist, the kind of doctor who talks to you about your problems and gives you advice/help, not a psychiatrist who just throws pills at you and asks how you're doing.
I love adderall but really its probably one of the worst things I could get into, any uppers really... Im just really euphoric for a while then after that ends and all my dopamine and serotonin are gone, I feel even worse than with my normal (probably low) levels. And these days I need all the help I can get to feel better and it only makes me feel worse in the end you know...
