I guess we don't have the right augmentation to view the article.

Pardon my interruption, my vision isn't augmented.
Wait what? Live Action trailer?
What a shame.
Found it:

Jesus Christ, watching that made me experience one of the weirdest things ever. I forgot I was watching a trailer for a game and thought I was watching a documentary for about a minute or two. I actually felt sad, angry... sorrow.
God dammit, my first week back at uni has exhausted me. I need sleep.
That was probably one of the best live action trailers ive seen.

Hah, oh wow. This.. this is really good.
Quite a lot better than the ME3 one with real actors. :v:
I'm hyped

That gave me goosebumps.

It's probably a lot easier to convey emotion among other things using a documentary-esque filming technique than it is with any other method. We're used to seeing documentaries about weird and horrific things. They're designed to display emotion quite well.
Plus, it's easier to experience emotion when things are small-scale and it's easy to see people and what's happening to them. Riots are something we can emphasise with, we understand them. Galactic invasions... not so much.
It's also the same reason I can be a COMPLETE douche bag in games like Sims City and laugh maniacally as I destroy entire cities, yet on the flip side if I play a more personal game like Mass Effect or Dragon Age or Fallout 3 I find it hard to be a douche bag without feeling guilty about it.

I don't argue with you.
Also, I want those eye-cameras.
Also, I want those eye-cameras.
It's completely replacing your eyes, in fact.
I like how they first released Sarif videos of how it's good, and how it enabled people to live a normal life, and now how it's all turning out to be some NWO-style shit. Wonder if this will have an effect on the player, that the govs can see where you are and turn off your augs.
that the govs can see where you are and turn off your augs.
That happened in DX1, the government activates your killswitch.
That was... absolutely brilliant.

I like how they say the augmentation industry is based on fear when they're making the most terrifying-looking documentary to dissuade people from it.
Jesus, I'm talking about it like it's real life.
[editline]21st July 2011[/editline]
The trailer suggests that www.sarifindustries.com has been changed somehow, but I don't see any difference. :C I wanted to check it out.
The end of the video mentions 'We've hacked their site' If you go to http://www.sarifindustries.com surfing around a bit should bring up a similar hacking interface to in game, and you can unlock a few images with information about Jensen's more questionable augs.
Posting in case someone didn't already know about it.
Posting in case someone didn't already know about it.
But I've already seen/done that. It's hidden away in a hacking minigame. When the video claims "we've hacked their site", I was expecting it to be completely defaced with ideas from the "purity first" group.

It's been there since sarifindustries.com was up.
Deus Ex HR has had some of the best trailers I've seen. They're marketing this game INCREDIBLY well.
Makes me wonder if this will actually be reality one day.
DX3 as a whole has one of the best video game marketing campaigns I can think of

you dick!!!
That's terror.
This is brilliant marketing. This will be a good sequel to Deus Ex.
And yet all I could think of while watching this was: TAKE MY MONEY, GIVE ME AUGMENTATIONS!
That's terror.
Why did it take so long for someone to make this joke :v:
[editline]21st July 2011[/editline]
Whoa, okay. Now I'm seeing something show up on that site.
I can't get those audio files to play though. HRRRM
-slow ninja snip-
Bah, wonder when those audio files are going to be up.
can't wait to punch all the purity first activists/leaders in the face
They have legitimate concerns and the people addicted to a drug just to get their augmentations to work only shows that what Sarif is doing is not only dangerous but just wrong.
I think in this game they're actually going to try to show that Augmentation has downsides.
