I bought Easycap awhile back, so i can record my 360 but there is no sound or color. What do i do?
I am using AMCap for it but you can tell me a different one, hopefully it will already have sound and color settings enable.
Anyone? Double post.
I have one.
It's shit.
Throw it in the trash.
I use a dazzle but for mine, I have a program and in that I change it to the right settings, it's black and white. So I start recording, load up AMCap and then set the video source to the Dazzle which changes it into colour.
For the sound, check that the sound cables are in the right hole, both in the tv and easycap.
Check to make sure the drivers installed for the audio - they're separate. Although if you're not on Windows XP, the audio will be mono, 8-bit and 8000hz.
The video could simply be an issue with formats - try switching to a different color mode when capturing, or a different standard (e.g., a different form of PAL or NTSC).
Try using S-Video rather than Component and see what happens, too. You may also want to try getting the official Syntek STK1160 chipset drivers (or the ones for whatever chipset you may have, as they can vary).
The Easycap device is very good, especially for the price. Don't be fooled by these people who didn't know how to get it working right - I have one, and I've never once been troubled by any major issues.
If you can't get it working still, return it. I assume you got it from DealExtreme, which will gladly give you an RMA for the product if you can't get it to work properly.
Sorry thought this died, i got it off ebay, i might get some other thing to use, is dazzle easy to use?
