Now, my rig runs everything fine for current gen games. I want to future proof it. Now, since you're all the masters of finding everything on newegg dirt cheap prices; I have come to you for this daring task.
I've got a 650w PSU. I want to change this - But it is not of my best interest at this time.
What I originally wanted to do was buy:
HAF932
ATi 5850
Intel i5
Simply because it would give me a bit more performance over my current quad-core. Do they overclock well, is what I want to know. Could I put it to 3.0 easily, or even 3.2?
Now, the 5850 is a HIS, cheapest one they have (Bad design, but saving money is alright, and I have a HIS 4850) HAF932 is the stock cooler master.
However, DDR3 is expensive. Would it be better to get 4gb or 6gb?
I can delay the case and i5, since I have a quad-core already. However, I'm skeptical about a 5850 fitting in an Antec 300.

Also I know this a little lower on the quality range but it offers a nice case for the same price as the 300.

Also HIS graphics cards a great same quality as any other brand.

I have a HIS. It's fine. I also have a 300.
I also want this to be the last case I buy for awhile, meaning I want the biggest for everything; which is the HAF932 for me.

Okay tell me what you are upgradign exactly and what you want.
Also to fit a 5850 in the antec 300 just get a dremel and cut some of the hard drive rack away. Also what is your current cpu.
I'm indefinitely buying a HAF932, eventually. I'd prefer to upgrade the graphics card as of now, since my quad will hold fine. I'm only skeptical of how the 5850 will fit in my Antec 300. I'll do the core i5 last.
What is your current cpu.
Q6600
Oh you are fine then. Do you need a cooler?
Cause if you do this is the one to go with.

Another problem arises. Which is why I would like a bigger case at the time I buy a GPU, I do not want to mod my cases. I have zero experience in this; and it's easier to not fuck with something.
I already have a cooler. F7P.

Cutting a section of a hard drive rack is easy just because if you fuck up use the drive bay above it.
I'd rather just buy the HAF932 with the 5850.
You could just get the 5850. Then if you fuck up buy the 932. If you don't wait it out.
For me it would be easier to buy the 5850 and HAF932 at the same time.
All with what you want.
Why buy now, you seem to have an adequate rig, and you won't need the hardware upgrade until those next-gen games come out. By then, you mine as well wait to see what new hardware is released or have the current-gen hardware devaluate.

I never said now. I'm upgrading, the 5850 and HAF932 first, but not now. I'll wait to see what NVIDIA will pull, if ever. If they do release something in the next 2-5 months, and 5850 drops in price, great for me. If not, well, I'll just buy.
Why don't you upgrade when you need to, you said all games run fine. Why don't you just upgrade your computer when it starts falling behind performance wise?

there's no such thing as future proofing when it comes to computers

When it comes the time when I can't fit a current gen graphics card into my case without cutting shit out, I'd rather buy a new case.
