yes. [editline]02:54PM[/editline] unless you want an exploded smouldering cpu :downs:
Yes.
Yes.
Depends on the situation, you should be more specific. Example: I would put it on a CPU but not a house salad.
Yes
yes because is not a completely flat touch
toothpaste is fine for a while, bitch to clean off though
Oh and im really new to the cpu assembly but im guessing that the thermal paste is used to have the heat to lead from the CPU to the Heatsink, amirite?
I've actually heard of people getting by with just metal-to-metal temporarily, but for the long term definitely use thermal paste.
Actually, if you can get a perfectly flat connection between the bottom of the heatsink and the CPU, you would no longer need thermal paste. But that's only if it is absolutely, perfectly flat, because the heat would transfer immediately, and evenly. That's a very hard thing to do, so we use thermal paste. So as for now, yes, thermal paste is needed.
Yes, unless you want your CPU to become a puddle of molten silicon very quickly that is.
Yes, unless you want your CPU to become a puddle of molten silicon very quickly that is.
it will shut off before that happens
Not necessarily...
It says in the instruction manual that there already is thermal thingy-majig on it, and when i loon on the bottom of the heatsing is see something that looks like tape, so i guess it's already installed and i dont need to buy any thermal paste
Yes. Do you want a broken CPU? I thought so.
No, it works perfectly fine without thermal paste, I know as I Studied Computer science for 4 years. [sp]Yes.[/sp]
toothpaste is fine for a while, bitch to clean off though
If toothpaste is a bitch, what's with thermal paste? :v:

use glue instead, it's better
Yeah, the included cooler with processors (Intel at least, don't know about AMD) have thermal paste pre-applied to them.
AMD have pre applied on their stock heat sinks
So to summaries: Yes.
AMD have pre applied on their stock heat sinks
All retail CPUs do.
it will shut off before that happens
Not if it's an AMD processor. Only Intels have temperature protection.
Not if it's an AMD processor. Only Intels have temperature protection.
That is only with the old athlon xp cpus.
How many people need to say yes before this thread dies? Just wonderin.
You forgot to post the video.
fuck [editline]1:11[/editline] i fixed it
No, some people have gotten by with metal on metal, but most people use thermal paste.
