• What supplement Graphics Card should I get for the one I already have?

Hi, I currently have an ATI Radeon HD 5770 Series XFX Graphics Card for my computer that is supporting 2 monitors with eyefinity. It's impossible to game on 2 monitors using eyefinity so I'm going to buy another graphics card to go with another monitor that i have. All the monitors are 20" Dell Monitors with 2680x1050 resolution. The Current Graphics Card I have supports 2 of the 3 monitors. I need one that doesn't outshine the one I already have while supporting only one monitor. I don't know if my PSU can handle any more or not. 520W supports 4 CD Drives and 2 Hard Disk Drives, an Intel i7 Processor, and 4GB Ram (6GB)* *I plan to get 2 or more ramsticks. and maybe an ssd to replace one of the current disks. What do you recommend, Fp?
What the fuck, 20" with 2680x1050? Did you mean 30" with 2560x1600? Or do you have two 1680x1050 monitors? You should get a quality 700W PSU and decide, if you want to get a new 5770 or a higher end GPU like a 6950 maybe?
6950 2gb and unlock it to a 6970.
6950 2gb and unlock it to a 6970.
I don't think you can do that anymore unless you are really lucky to get a old one.
5850 would be a good idea, since Sapphire recently got a bundle of them and is selling them off pretty cheap - they equal the 6850 in performance, for only £115.
Perhaps get another 5770 for cf, then get an active displayport to dvi adapter. Might even be good with your current power supply then.
Perhaps get another 5770 and an active displayport to dvi adapter. Might even be good with your current power supply then.
But if he got a second 5770 why would he need a active displayport adapter?
But if he got a second 5770 why would he need a active displayport adapter?
You can only use two dvi/vga/hdmi per card because of some limit that I don't recall at the moment. That is why he needs the adapter. Found it: "A maximum of 2 legacy monitors (VGA, DVI or HDMI) can be enabled simultaneously, provided that each monitor is connected either directly or via a “passive” DisplayPort™ adapter/dongle. To enable support for more than 2 monitors, “active” DisplayPort™ adapters/dongles are required (or monitors with direct DisplayPort™ connectivity must be used)." I can't remember exactly what the problem was with the monitor amount limitations but it had something to do with hardware limitations.
The limit is per card. And pretty affordable.
Are you saying with an adapter, I can just not get another card? Wouldn't that destroy gpu performance? This is for gaming on Eyefinity. I am also thinking of getting another 2 monitor card so i can have a 4 monitor system, 3 for gaming, and 1 for random things (Stats, Music, Browsing,) That wouldn't be part of the 3 monitor eyefinity group. This is my exact card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150462 HD-577X-ZNFC I know it's not that shiny, but It does well with what I task it. So Get a 700W PSU, and get a new 6000s card? Any spesific models? I do not want this to look any better/worse then the picture I have now. all the monitors I have are the same model and brand and condition because of this. Dell E207WFPc

Will This be a Problem? Or is this Common? I can't clock the temp of my gpu with speccy so I don't even know if it get's hot with sufficient cooling space. Oh yeah, forgot. My machine has 6 Case Fans, 5 120mm and 1 140mm. But still.. [editline]anus[/editline] Also Looks Like I've decided on this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150560 It's the exact same card with a 6000 series GPU.
you won't be able to crossfire a 6770 and a 5770, it would be better to get a 5770 and crossfire them.
Would there be any good reason to buy 2 6000 series' and crossfire 2 while discarding my 5000 series? or is there not a very good difference between the generations?
Not really, the 5770's aren't strictly that powerful (good budget option), they're the exact same as a 6770.

Won't be an issue, that's what most SLI/Crossfire setups look like and the extra heat is usually not too bad, if it's an issue you can add a fan or two on the harddrive cage/side panel to blow air into the cards.
Alright, Thanks! New Monitor, Graphics Card, CrossfireX cable, and PSU are on their way.
Enjoy!

Yes it will. Both are 5770s and that is what matters.
So far it seems like they're both pretty much the exact same besides from the new one having PCI Express 2.1 x16.
