Very awkward name to search for, wouldn't you agree? Found nothing anyway.
Yes are an English Prog Rock group, are considered one of the best Prog acts around at that. Their first album was released in 1969, and they are still touring, infact, at the moment (January, 2010) They're in the early stages of a US tour, having just finished a Euro tour.
The current, and the most famous line up as of current is as follows:
Steve Howe - Electric and Acoustic Guitars.
Chris Squire - Bass.
Alan White - Drums.
Oliver Wakeman, son of the previous member Rick - Keyboards.
Jon Anderson (Though currently replaced due to being ill D:) - Vocals (Brilliant voice)
More importantly: The songs themselves:
Starship Troopers

I love Yes. Gonna see them in mid-February. I hope they play some stuff off of Close to the Edge.
Yes are awesome, I'd love to see them live, though I missed their euro tour. :(
In Florida, I think, they're doing a show for free, shame I'm a brit. :frown:
The guitar in Owner of a Lonely Heart is just awesome!

Thats my favourite album! Not arguably their very best, but a true classic nonetheless

Nice bump

But I do love Yes, so I guess it's acceptable
I've never been able to get into Fragile. And I need to listen to Tales from Topographic Oceans too. Relayer, Close to the Edge and Going for the One are absolutely incredible albums. The first and last I listed are definitely in my top albums of all time as I'm sure I've said. However, Sound Chaser isn't that great and Siberian Khatru is AMAZING

Sound Chaser is fantastic.
I'm not a fan :v: then again a lot of Yes fans would probably call me a heathen for not liking Fragile either >.>

Totally understand that. Fragile is their most outlandish album and can recieve criticism. But i personally like the mindset of it all. The craziness of the concept is difficult to justify.
Owner of a Lonely Heart is my favorite song from them.
Southside of the Sky :smug:

Fragile is hardly outlandish, personally I find Fragile the most conventional of the 70s albums (Ignoring Tormato because Tormato was awful). Though it's still good.
Concept-wise and as a whole, it is pretty much. Imo, it is a very different listen compared to Close to the Edge.
I think its one of their greatest, because of that.
Yeah, the music on Fragile is pretty light for Yes. It didn't start getting real crazy until Close To The Edge, culminating in Relayer. I'm not aware of any concept on Fragile, though. Perhaps you could enlighten me.

Gates of Delirium reminds me of France. I listened to it while I was on a train going out of Paris on a beautiful Summer morning. At the time, I hated the song, but I've since grown an immense appreciation for it, and the associated memory makes me that much happier.

I thought it was a synth.
Its probably the rock-classic feel that gives it, its image.
'Concept' was probably the wrong word.
My friend just introduced me to this band. Quite happy he did, they make some sweet music.

to be honest I don't know how you can like close to the edge but not like fragile
and vice versa

yes
I've only heard Going for the One, Relayer, Close to the Edge, Fragile and Tormato, and I've listed them there in order of preference. I'll need to give Fragile another listen but truth be told it bored me a bit.
Try "The Yes Album"
Next on my to buy list is Tales of Topographic Oceans, after that I'll try The Yes Album
