Graphics cards?

Well, this seems like a simple enough question. My friend has a:
NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
but needs THESE (or better) to run a game:
Graphics: DirectX 9 compatible video card with Shader model 3.0. NVidia 7600, ATI X1600 or better

Does his card fit? I can't figure it out, because I'm [img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/posticons/icon18-stupid.gif[/img]!

He needs to upgrade. That's an IGP (integrated GPU soldered to the mobo) which is pure garbage compared to having an actual graphics card.

50-120 = 8400GS - 8800GT (Nvidia), HD 3450 - 4350 (ATi)
121-200 = 9400GT - 9800GT or GTX(+)[Nvidia], HD 4670 - 4850 (ATi)
201+ = 9800GX2+ - GTX 295 (Nvidia), HD 4870 - HD 4890 (ATi)
Should be conclusive of your friends budget if he has one.

9800GX2 is the bastard of the 9 series, its only useful for folding, otherwise its a horrid card. (although it is fairly fast). GTX 295? Why not add the 5870?

5870 not released and I think you will find that it's still in Rev 0.5 if I am still correct ATi are still doing the revision checks.

Also dev why are you still here and not been perma'd yet.
