And I wait eagerly to see his spin on it. Because the Nemesis system was a pretty damn interesting mechanic, and deserves to be further studied by multiple studios.

eggghhhhh after bioshock infinite? no thank you

That's kind of an unfair way to judge a yet-to-come game.

If your criteria for good games is "if the developer has ever had a mediocre game then nothing they make afterward is good" then your library must be tiny

Also that "mediocre" title getting universal critical acclaim and having a 94 Metacritic score.
i think more games should look at the nemesis system for inspiration.

Yeah, but the critics are dumb and based on "in the moment" scoring. When people take a longer, more critical look at a game like Infinite even six months after it came out then it's pretty eeeeh.

And sometimes they're right and the game carries on as a good, memorable title, I'm not saying everything critics say are wrong, but Infinite was not that great in critical retrospect.

His latest game was a fluke and missed the point of its own series in pretty much every way.
It's a perfectly fair assumption to make that his next game would suffer from the same issues.
I am definitely interested in seeing how Ken Levine can spin a Nemesis System. The feature was definitely interesting, but as a concept it had certain flaws that made it kind of immersive breaking.
Hopefully Ken Levine can make something amazing with this great system.

The fact that people consider Bioshock Infinite a bad game will forever baffle me. Everything about that title and it's DLC were pretty great.
Sure, if you expected what they showed in the initial trailers. Well, too bad. It's hard to construct a Bioshock-esque experience in an Open World environment. It had to be closed down to a linear experience for it to all work.
Yeah, I could also mention the whole meta explaination about how the linear story with no choices was due to the [sp]pre determined path of Booker's Journey[/sp] But, most people will just laugh at looking over Bioshock Infinites' meta descriptions as nothing more than "bad game design".
TBH The main problems I had relating to Bioshock Infinite was its gameplay, for me it was one of those instances where that fact alone ruined the whole thing for me. I mean, you've got weapons that feel weak, bullet-spongey enemies, and a 2-weapon limit that wasn't even implemented very well.
I didn't like its story either, but to me that was among the least of its actual problems (then again, it was my first Bioshock game and I've always been a gameplay over story kind of guy, though I've been playing through Bioshock 1 on-and-off and I've actually been enjoying that game's combat a lot more in comparison).

its a cover shooter disguised as an arena shooter with horrible gunplay
Ken Levine actually has a great track record. Bioshock Infinite is one of his best games (story and aesthetically speaking).
I have high hopes his next game will be good as if not better.
