I think this is the right place for this... if not please move it...
Here's my situation: I've got a really good PC (specs below), and I mainly use Firefox 3.6.17. I've noticed lately, though, that when the browser is open for long periods of time, it begins to lag. This is especially impactful on streaming video. Part of the problem could be that I'm running minimized games in the background, which eats up a lot of the computer's memory.
My question is, which browser is the best, simply based on performance? I'm not talking about how quickly it can start up, or how quickly it loads a page. But in general performance of long-term speed and using my system's resources efficiently and correctly. Like I said, I use Firefox 3, but I also know I have a version of Chrome. I haven't touched Opera in years, but would be open to it based on any information given on newer versions. I've also heard good things about IE9. Just any general info/stats/opinions would be helpful.

I went from Firefox to Chrome and noticed that for me, personally, Chrome performed a lot better for me than Firefox ever did. Despite lacking some customization and add-on capabilities that Firefox has, I find it to be a superior browser, in my personal opinion.
Everyone says Chrome.
I personally dislike it.
Chrome tends to be one of the fastest, if not the fastest.
But also keep in mind personal preference.
Chrome. Firefox is slow
I personally enjoy using Chrome. It's extremely simple & stable.
Compared to Firefox, mines always crashed when I had too many tabs on it.
I have only tried Chrome and Firefox. Chrome is my favorite, as Firefox is way to damn slow.
On the other hand, Firefox has a way better version of AdBlock Plus, meaning that it will block ads on ANY website... As chrome only stops youtube ads.
It's all based on personal opinion.
Nobody ever mentions Opera, but do give it a go. It's very good, and it is faster for me than any other browser.

I think Firefox 4 is just as fast as Chrome
Chrome is the fastest. Period. But it doesn't have a good adblocking addon, so I'm sticking with Firefox
yeah i guess chrome can be faster, but i stick with firefox because of the customization and the appareance.
