• Searching For A Quad Core CPU

I'll try to keep it short because I typed a pretty big OP and lost it all because my browser crashed (cheers!) I'm looking for a quadcore (or better ofcourse, but that's not possible in my budget) CPU on a 1155 chip. I'm running an XFX R9 280x 3GB OC Edition and 8GB RAM with it. My current i3 3220 is bottlenecking said GPU so I really want a nice, new CPU. I currently have €234 but €40 will be added to that in 2 weeks, coming to a total of €274 (technically €264 because my Spotify sub will be subtracted from that). I was looking at the i5 3570K but it's not sold here anymore. Tweakers (a big site that compares prices n stuff) listed one in my budget, but the site doesn't sell it anymore. The best option left seems to be the i5 3470, but i'm worried that might be too old or whatever (I don't know much about CPUs). I'm really just looking for a CPU that won't bottleneck my GPU that hard. For specific games to run, think of stuff like GTA V and Fallout 4. Hope someone can help me out!
I have a 3470. Kicks ass. I'd aim for a 3570K(check ebay) if you have a motherboard that can overclock and if you are into over clocking you can get out a bit more power(you'll have to ditch the intel stock heatsink at this point). If not the 3470 is pretty much as good as it's gonna get. TL;DR get 3470 but if you don't mind looking at ebay a 3570K or non K should be with in your price range.
eBay is not an option here (I'm from the Netherlands, forgot OPs don't have flagdogs sorry!) and as nice as overclocking sounds, i'm not planning on buying a CPU cooler anytime soon. But atleast it's good to hear that the 3470 is still a good cpu!

What motherboard do you have exactly? I would really reccomend the 3570k, even of you dont want To overclock now. In the future it might give you a massive performance boost for the prise of a 25€ cooler.

The 3570k indeed seems like the better option, but the only way to get one now seems to be second-hand and I really want to avoid that if possible.
There's absurdly little that can go wrong with a secondhand non-k processor.
It's not the quality of the product itself that's rubbing me the wrong way, it's mostly just experiences of me getting burned in the past :v:
Ouch B75 can't overclock Z77 can.
Ah. So 3470 it is?
No you can still get the 3570K and shove it in and it will run just fine. Just don't expect to over clock it or push it's performance anymore then stock.
Well the 3570k isn't sold anymore so besides that, the 3470 is my best option? How much would it bottleneck my GPU? (To be precise, it's an XFX R9 280x Black Edition)
Neat! Time to order it then. Thanks for the help!
