I'm not surprised at all, anyone remember The Crossing?
Too bad they'll never release any games to have it as a feature AMIRTE? HIGH FIVE!

Was the Portal 2 coop cross platform?
Was the Portal 2 coop cross platform?
I think it was, PC and PS3 only

Dying light GoG and steam crossplay please
As far as I know most developers would want cross-play but it was always Sony or MS who stopped that from happening. Is it really news that dev XY supports it? It was probably never a developer who said "We don't want this.".

Their stubbornness is the reason there's no Xbox One version of Final Fantasy XIV or Street Fighter V.
The thing is, since mouse and keyboard is better for first person shooters compared to a standard controller (the steam controller might be an exception), the difference in peripherals alone gives keyboard and mouse a massive edge in any competitive setting. For casual coop though, I see no issue with it.
Time to pwn some ps an xbox knewbs who talk shit on computers cause ill brain.

It would definitely help alleviate the problem of underpopulated servers/matchmaking. Destiny suffered from that since even the PS3/PS4 and 360/One couldn't play with each other. I honestly don't see the point of this article. So what he emailed Gabe. Anyone can email Gabe and ask him anything. Its like this person just took a random post from PCMasterRace and said lets make a article about this silly thing. Furthermore, I don't think PC Developers were ever against cross play. Its always consoles (Sony,Microsoft) that never want to do it.

They even let Valve do the thing where they ported their steam friends/account system to PS3.
so that's their problem. And splitting by input method pretty much you're pretty much back to zero.
How much people do you think, want, or are willing to use keyboard+mouse on a console? If it was introduced on more AAA games on consoles, it would pick up popularity; mainly since basically everyone has a keyboard and mouse already. [editline]22nd March 2016[/editline] And if you could play MCC with KB/M on Xbone then I would.

This is living room hardware, and i assume most people use it that way, even that fact alone makes me doubt there will be much if any keyboard+mouse adaption.
cross platforming multiplayer needs to happen now, so many good online games die and maintain tiny communities across each platform. if they were all able to play together there would be enough people to keep the games alive.
Sony seems more open to it, since Portal 2, Rocket League, and Street Fighter V are cross-platform.
MS was massively open to it. A lot of games were planned to have it - like Universe at war. But generarlly speaking the difference in control schemes made the games either suffer or give a massive benefit to the PC players. This was particularly evident in that shadowrun game.

That's why I see this as more if a recent change of internal policy
