Hey. Got myself a Crucial M4 128GB SSD today and compared to others I think it might be running slow? I think my read speed should be higher than that It runs quick regardless but should it not be faster? I have seen read speeds of up to 400mb/s
Have you enabled AHCI mode in your BIOS? In case you haven't you have to edit a Windows registry value before you do so or you'll just BSOD once you change it. Does your motherboard have SATA 3Gb/s or SATA 6Gb/s ? SATA 3Gb/s peaks around ~375MB/s transfer speed.
Have you updated the firmware to the latest one?
I did the registry fix and enabled AHCI mode then ran the SSD benchmark and it is slightly faster 264.98Mb/s and 182.61Mb/s sequential read and write speeds but with 175.03Mb/s and 140.59 MB/s 4k-64Thrd read and write speeds. is this still slow? And when I downloaded the latest Crucial m4 firmware it told me I already had the latest version e:

seems fine, have you checked if it's plugged into the 6 GB/s port? The speeds seem to be nearing the limit of SATA II so that might be the issue.
could be. I'll check the next time I open up my PC. speed is looking fine now though, thx guys [editline]13th November 2012[/editline] just checked. it was plugged into Sata 2! thanks a lot
