And they're about a year late on making an ad like this... But better late then never I guess.
I enjoy my Wii-U thou it still feels like they get shit on in the 3rd party support department. Still feels like a console that plays nintendo exclusives and that's it.
Why on earth would they say "upgrade to Wii U"? As if people aren't confused enough.
The only thing that would make me want this is smash bros. But thats coming out on the 3ds so I bought a 3ds instead. I'm happy with my choice.
Well that was corny as hell.
Why on earth would they say "upgrade to Wii U"? As if people aren't confused enough.
Because that's what people do when new consoles come out. People upgrade to the PS4 from the PS3, people downgr- I mean upgrade to the xbone from the 360. And people upgrade from wii to wii u.
How many times has this thing got a price cut?
How many times has this thing got a price cut?
Once.
never in australia =/ holy hell nintendo australia is garbage
It seems they are really focusing the games though on the 3DS. I mean they decided to make the next Mario Party on the 3DS. That seems like a perfect game for the WiiU, but NOPE.
They still know how to make a commercial that looks like its from the 80s/90s
Why on earth would they say "upgrade to Wii U"? As if people aren't confused enough.
With the awful name, pitching it as an upgrade is just about all they can do. They need to tell the general public that the Wii U isn't like that drawer full of white plastic tennis rackets and guns that their kids have, it's an "UPGRADED WII CONSOLE." Christmas is a good time to be relaunching the console, but MAN has it been a long wait for the people that bought it before then. Ever since Animal Crossing came out, the 3DS absolutely exploded. It makes sense for them to focus more on it since it's the big thing keeping them afloat right now.
really sucks that this is selling so poorly simply because of marketing because it has a lot of a potential as an in-between next gen console and who am i kidding release bayonetta 2 please
Once.
Why did I think it was the second? But anyways, this might actually really help the Wii U. I hope this gets more people to them, and convinces devs to work towards porting games for the system. That gamepad is divine. That can not just die.

So you know that system that isn't selling because it doesn't have any marketing? Let's try to make it sell with shit marketing.
Nintendo of Europe is garbage as well, it's only the US and Japan that gets all the love most of the time.
Ehh, I think NoE is getting better at what they do given that they've given you guys earlier releases of games now. They're focusing hard on EU now since Nintendo stuff usually does bad anyway, but it's been getting worse lately as far as I can tell.
never in australia =/ holy hell nintendo australia is garbage
From what I've heard, NoAus is just a tiny, tiny building with only a few people. They don't really have enough resources to work with, unfortunately.
If Call Of Duty Ghosts can sell well, anything can.
Ghosts can sell well because all the 12 year olds kids like to talk about their fucking killstreak and how everyone who quickscopes is a "noob" buy (read: get their parents to buy it for them) the new Call of Duty every year.
If Call Of Duty Ghosts can sell well, anything can.
CoD sells because it manages to convey its fanbase that it is something new (regardless of actual state of things), Nintendo however is still struggling just to inform people that the WiiU is too. They should just namedrop the Wii in the commercials and make sure to tell people that the WiiU is the successor of that. Considering the Wii sold incredibly well, it's beyond me that they haven't used that more to promote the WiiU anyway.
Thought I might share a short summary from YouTube
A couple of kids try to con their drunk dad into buying a new Atari. In the end, he mumbles something about "being upgraded" and pinches his mortified wife on the leg.
The Wii had a crazy amount marketing when it released. Looks like it's coming back. Nintendo's gonna be just fine.
