I had no idea they were doing this, what a nice feature!
First the audio tour, now this? I'm glad to see they're making the most of the beautiful environment
I really want to see this in VR now, hot damn free roam + VR would be great
I like how they made the mode an Xbox timed exclusive
I like how they made the mode an Xbox timed exclusive
what a profoundly confusing thing to do
Is it possible to get some achievements done with this mode? I kinda missed some encounters.
So what do you do? Do you just walk around, or did they add some little gameplay elements like throwing rocks or something?
Firewatch is a very good adventure game, but its real magic is in the way it creates an absolutely stunning wildland for players to wander through. It's a landscape that begs to be explored without the pressure of objectives or restricted access to certain areas. I'm really looking forward to giving it a try, especially through the nighttime hours.
The game is pretty for sure, the visual design is excellent, but I don't know about this. The trails are all linear corridors with copy pasted climbing ledges or ropes aside from a few flat-ish fields. It would be nice to be able to walk around and get any notes or whatever that you missed though I guess, assuming you can do that.
Boring games with no gameplay other than "Make this choice. Then do 10 other meaningless choice. Then make this new important chance". and "Walk. Just walk and take shit."
It tells a pretty good story though. It's not amazing, and it gets really bad if you figure some things out early on the game. That, and no matter what you do the ending seems pretty unsatisfying.

I say tomato, you say potato.
It tells a pretty good story though. Walking simulators are bad and should not be made today. I don't know when people started to accept this horrible trend?

Have you not seen all the Gone Home, Arkham Knight, No Man's Sky, CoD, [insert Ubisoft/Uplay game], [insert EA/Origin exclusive game], Borderlands 2 and above, Dead Island, Duke Nukem Forever, Elder Scrolls Online (and maybe Skyrim and Fallout 4, since people like to really complain about these), Resident Evil 5/6, etc. threads over the years? You don't need a positive opinion to have a discussion about something.

I mean unless you're shitposting a completely baseless opinion there's no reason to tell someone not to post it.
