So does this mean it's completely cancelled? or they're just keeping it in development for longer?
They should offer everyone who bought it a refund.

That's a terrible idea.
That's a terrible idea.
Releasing an unfinished, half-assed buggy upscaled port of the games was an even worse idea.

These things happen, suggesting that Konami go out and offer everyone refunds is ridiculous.

Yes, We should totally accept that we bought something that doesn't function correctly and Konami is completely blameless in all of this and owes us nothing, not even a functioning product.
Good God what were we thinking.

she's dead Jim.
Doesn't the HD collection remove the fog from Silent Hill? Cause if so good job guys, you have a real winner here.

Things happen? No, they don't just happen. I don't own this game on xbox or own any of the silent hills. But I know enough that it is bullshit to release a buggy game with many issues and expect people to just deal with it. Developers know exactly what they release, they know if a game is buggy or not. They're just being lazy and abusing the DLC/ability to download patches/content to rush a release then fix it later if they feel like it.
This is exactly what is wrong with gaming, back in the day we didn't have internet enabled consoles so games had to be fucking perfect before release. For the most part they where because releasing such a game would basically be like committing financial suicide. No one would want to buy from a company that made buggy games. Your attitude is also what is wrong with the gaming community, far to many people are to lazy to complain or care. So the end result is devs get away with what they do.
I"m glad PS3 managed to get a fucking fix, but it is just pure laziness that they're not going to finish a X360 patch. Hell they admitted it themselves
"cancelled due to technical issues and resources,"
AKA I can make a port and update it, but I'm to lazy to fix it and there is no financial gain involved. If you're going to update a game that is already made, you better fix all the kinks because it isn't like you got fucking development issues to worry about. The game is basically finished.
On this day and age when any game that comes out needs to be patched because bugs are only found when thousands of people are playing it updates should be a main concern to the entire gaming industry and no more painless than the devs getting their update checked out and pressing the big red "launch update" button, no fees and no legal bullshit.

Buying a half assed port is the worst idea of all
These things happen, suggesting that Konami go out and offer everyone refunds is ridiculous.
They weren't given what they payed for, so why not? Maybe not a full refund but something else could be arranged? Seems ridiculous that they just scrap a patch that would fix issues that make it unplayable
Didn't I hear that the "HD textures" in Silent Hill 2 HD were just the original textures re-sized to a larger resolution and sharpened?
I feel sorry for anyone who bought it with all the problems it has.
Way to support your fan base...
This makes no sense. This patch (1.02) was apparently released in July. And now it says it's released 8th August.
Just checked on my PS3, there is no updates, it's still 1.01.
you have to play it to understand
they fucking ruined it
like
just ruined
I rented it from LoveFilm and only played about 20 minutes of each game before returning it.

It's really not as bad as people say. At least not for the Silent Hill 3 Remake. I'm about 40% through, and haven't had any game-breaking problems. Infact I can't say I've encountered any problems at all.
Silent Hill 2 on the other hand. I closed it off after walking out the toilets and seeing the backdrop which looks like total ass without the fog.
