This game looks so great. I have no problem admitting that the gameplay looks similar to WoW, as that is pretty much what I personally wanted. WoW has the winning formula. I want to get this game, but the lack of a release date really puts me off getting excited about it.
It's Star Wars themed WoW. I really wanted this to be different, but it's a pass. I'm definitely not a fan of themepark mmos anymore. And honestly, they could've taken it in a different direction. Oh well.
who the fuck defaults embedded videos to autoplay in this day and age [editline]10th June 2011[/editline]
This game looks so great. They could have made it like SWG but no, they had to make it generic.
christ, look at this rainbow-ass bullshit it arguably looks worse than KOTOR 1, which is coming up on 8 years old
They could have made it like SWG but no, they had to make it generic.
Pretty much, I had hoped for a revamped Pre-NGE SWG, but then I found out they had just hopped on the WoW clone bandwagon and hoped the Star Wars label would make it a success and lost hope.
I hate how hardly any recent MMO's have Non-combat things to do. SWG's combat was pretty bad, but the Housing, Space, Crafting etc was awesome.
I knew from the first gameplay video we got ages ago that I wouldn't like this game. It's a shame it is really just a re-skinned WoW with voice acting, I knew quite a few people who were stoked for this. As of now not a single one of them gives two shits about TOR anymore.
I hate how hardly any recent MMO's have Non-combat things to do. SWG's combat was pretty bad, but the Housing, Space, Crafting etc was awesome.
Most agreed. I like feeling involved in the world, not simply going from zone to zone killing the next tier of creatures. It's the main reason I can't play MMOs long term anymore, I like to do more than just kill shit and get loot. Still hoping I can find an MMO (besides Second Life) that has at least as good a housing system as SWG. Maybe one day.
I wonder if the Sand People cave is that cave you found the Star Map in KOTOR 1
Did anyone actually watch the video? I've never played WoW and, consequently, I am looking forward to this.
That narrator got to explain fucking everything even when I see it myself. Also speeder bike is more like slowder bike.
They could have made it like SWG but no, they had to make it generic.
SWG with less grind That would be the best MMO ever

>Tell me about this cave "Is there any way I can help?" gotta love bioware's great dialogue wheel
In SWG, I remember them adding jump after a few months or something, I was so excited! Then I tried to jump over something only half a meter tall.
people who got bored of WoW can hop on to this game, however those that are looking for a game not so WoW-ish should look at "The Secret World" and other non-mainstream games out there.
This inspired me to spend hours looking for a way to install KOTOR on Windows 7.
Aside from the "Mass Effect" dialogue system, the game looks terribly boring and generic. I won't even hesitate to pass this one up.
and haven't they basically completely ignored 2? (which is much better written and more interesting than the 1st.. just very unfinished also Kreia, who's an amazing character)

The ability to create player made city's that grow and evolve overtime was awesome. Talking about the old swg makes me sad though, that game was bursting with life. I remember cities being laggy as hell and packed with players, now the game is nearly a shell. I have my doubts about this game, but im going to give it a go just for the hell of it.

This will be the end of the Bioware when this MMORPG bombs.
