I dont think there is a thread for this, but I think it deserves one.
I loved this short film, was a great opening to Toy Story 3, and very creative.
Discuss.
I couldnt find the whole short anywhere, so If you havent seen it yet, you're on your own. Sorry.
There's plenty of Pixar shorts threads, this doesn't need it's own
I personally hated it. I went to the midnight showing, had to sit through this retarded short after waiting years for a Toy Story sequel.

What was wrong with it?
It was okay, I would have preferred a regular ol' 3D short.
It's like that Jackalope short, it's creative and all A+ but I personally didn't dig it.
I think this is my second favorite Pixar short next to "Presto".
I didn't like it, it was just too short. Also Pixar doesn't belong to the 2D world.
I really liked it, it was very clever. There was something about it that I didn't like quite so much, but it was still really good.
I heard this short is awesome in 3D.
What you people don't get it is that inside the characters are all 3D animation. Do you realize how extremely difficult it is to synchronize the 3D animation into the 2D character?
They did the 3D animations first, then put a big black mask above it and animated it by moving the places where Day and Night were supposed to be, which are actually transparent spaces.
I don't really think it's hard to synch them, since they aren't moving. Only the black mask above them move to give you the impression a character with a day/night background instead of his body is here.
I thought it was okay. Entertaining and all. I like Birds on a wire or whatever that was one was called. All of the old ones used to have morals and funny endings. This one just took a trip to the art house world.
I thought the moral was to not judge people based on first impressions?
I was sitting there wondering...
"This must be a ad for a bank for something"
then a few minutes later...
"This is one damm long ad"
I loved it.

Comparing it to the OP's pic, I think the 3D version was a little bit better. But I haven't watched it in 2D yet, so I can't tell you for sure.
This was a pretty cute short, I enjoyed it.
