Hi there, I've been experiencing this for a while now..
I've got used to it, but I would rather like a fix.
Whenever I open the Steam Window, the one showing My Games etc, or a Chat, I seem to loose all Page Pool memory, thus causing all Source games and most other games, to completely fail..
Does anyone know a fix for this, or a why of upgrading my Page Pool Memory?
Cheers.

How much ram do you have?
2gb.
But I'm running XP, so I can't really upgrade that.
why not?
Well XP only registers 3.5gb or something..
Not if you're using x64
..
Anyway, this is not a problem with your physical ram, but your OS Paged Pool Memory (virtual ram/page-file), you should try to increase it.
Back a few years I fixed my friends account so it could run EP2 engine games, simply by increasing it, so I know it works.
Here's a tutorial on how to increase it: http://teamtutorials.com/windows-tutorials/speed-up-your-pc-by-increasing-page-file-size
You should set it to about 2-3GB for your system, also moving it to another partition than the one where you've your OS installed is recommended. (the OS is usually installed on C)
Also as long as you're using XP, you don't really need more than 2GB, very few applications will need more than that anyway. You should be able to play Garry's Mod without any problems with just about 1GB.
Oh wow. Thank you so much. I currently only have 1024 allocated. I'll change it to 3072 or 4096. I'll get back to you.
Thanks again.

Setting it to 4096 (max in 32 bit) should be good if you've enough space available, you can't really have too much of virtual memory.
