• How do I reformat my computer?

I'm a tech noob, give me a break. How do I clean/wipe every single piece of music/photo/crap in my hard-disk and then reuse Window's squeeky clean as when I first bought it? I have a Windows Vista OEM disk if that helps.
When your computer boots up, go into the bios and set it to boot from the disk drive, then insert the disk and restart your computer. [editline]09:35AM[/editline] Make sure you save the settings in the bios, though. [editline]09:35AM[/editline] And set it back to boot from the hard drive once you're done.
how do i go into BIOS
Press the delete key while booting.
Could be some other key too, it usually says it as "setup"
And set it back to boot from the hard drive once you're done.
Why? I never did that.
aren't there limited installs on my Vista OEM disk?
That OEM disk, or actually the OEM key only works on 1 computer, should be able to reinstall as many times as possible.
aren't there limited installs on my Vista OEM disk?
I used my Vista OEM disc to install vista maybe 5-6 times already, and on different computers without one getting disabled.
Try Deriks Boot & Nuke. This is a nice tool if you want to secure wipe everything.
Delet system32 hurr durr
use magnets :v:
fire?
use magnets :v:
Hard drives have high power magnets in them. The read head is suspended between 2 super strength earth metal magnets.
Why? I never did that.
well, the next time you put in a bootable disc into your dvddrive and reboot your pc, something like "a cd has been detected, would you like to run the disc" will appear on your screen, before loading windows. If you don't have anything in it, it'll go to the second option, which is probably your hdd. so it's not big deal to change it, but some people just prefer to.
