I like importing British series and they don't have German subtitles as these series don't exist in other countries, for instance.
British series often don't even have English subs, it's annoying as fuck..

The problem here is that the copyright body, a civilian organisation, decided the police were going to do a raid, instead of the police deciding. That's all kinds of fucked up.

The power in nordic countries(and probably many more) has often been with the rich publisher companies and not the actual government
Case in point: [del]Bribing[/del]Lobbying passing a law in norway letting any private party grab IP adresses, request the name/adress/other info registered to it, and monitor the traffic used by the IP adress if they find a means to(as long as they tell the government organization responsible for safety of computer information know that "they're currently monitoring x name with ip")
They can then send off copyright claims at whatever imaginary number they can think of next, and most likely order a police raid if they refuse to pay(it's happened before, with a house being raided by police and having computers taken away when the pirate in question was a 9 year old and the content wasn't available otherwise, even though our police force is apparently "strained")

If the movie industry can't make money off you or hasn't already made money off you, then you're breaking a copyright law.
The admin of the site and some politicans are saying that the subtitles are interpretations and not direct translations, which in that case would make Fredrik Fucknecks argument invalid.

Subtitles are indeed interpretations since you can't directly translate things to where its word for word.
