[QUOTE]Lucille Ball’s hometown, just outside Jamestown in western New York, erected a life-size statue to honor the beloved actress — but now it has some explaining to do.
[...]
“Lucille Ball was not only an amazing comedienne, but she was a stunning beauty. Her sense of humor only made her more beautiful,” he said in an interview with Yahoo News. “This statue looks nothing like the beautiful Lucy we all know. If for no other reason than that... the statue should go.”
[...]
The group organizer says that he does not want to disparage artist Dave Poulin at all. In fact, he said, the artist has other works that are quite good — he just missed the mark this time.
“I think it looks like a monster. That is just my opinion,” he said. “When you see it at night, it is frightening.”
The Jamestown area is immensely proud of the classic television icon. Jamestown is home to the Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum & Center for Comedy, which hosts an annual comedy festival the first week of August. Jerry Seinfeld will be headlining this year.

The statue could be done better. So why not update it?
Jesus wept!
Before I read the article, I was figuring another thing that has been around for years was gonna get removed because of how angry SJW's were.
But yeah that statue looks really ugly. Almost like Margret Thatcher.
Make a better statue, one that doesn't look like 200 year old cheese trying to give me cough medicine.
Does it taste like chocolate too?
Lucy's artist has got some 'splainin to do.

why do you people keep bringing up sjw's all the time, christ

Because in this day and age, SJW's call for alot of things to be removed.
Hell we have an article for a joke a kickstarter made in a game getting changed because of SJW's getting their panties in a twist.
Not my fault it happens constantly to the point where one almost expects it.

sjw is just the term you guys use to immediately discredit and strawman what other people are saying
plenty of people are unreasonable and jump to conclusions, but you're doing the same thing by endlessly complaining about them in such a way

anyway the statue looks fine and he's a total shitlord for calling it, and by extension any typical smiling 40 year old lady, a monster

Well I mean the statue should replicate what she's most known for. Like the Sylvester Stallone statue in Philly isn't of Stallone when he was 60 years old, it was when he was Rocky. The same should be for Ball.
The statue doesn't look like her from any era. It's completely inaccurate in every way. The only thing it did right was the damn spoon and bottle.
Always get reminded of this farm that's about 2 miles away where the owner named his horse after Lucy. She was so popular, people would stop on the road to feed her and take pictures (my family included). When she died, she was all over the local paper. Was insanely sad. (sorry for off-topic, just figured I'd share)
But that statue looks terrible. Replace it instead, don't just remove it. And preferably hire an artist who knows what they're doing.
As someone who stays up until absurd times to watch I Love Lucy on Hallmark I can confirm this is bizarrely inaccurate/monster like.

No that's actually wrong, that's like me bringing up "Yeah but I bet those damn darkies will come and ruin the fun" every time there's something totally unrelated.

In the same way that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, sometimes an uncanny valley statue is just an uncanny valley statue and you don't need to get unnecessarily worked up over the big scary essjaydubyuh boogeyman/woman

explanation so shallow you making kiddie pools look deep
They really messed up the eyes on it, it makes it look inhuman
Just looks like someone from fallout 3 including the not quite right pose
I could see that fucked up face and spoon in a "HERE'S JOHNY" photoshop.

I'm confused, which side is the one with the persecution complex?
