When you think of all the advancements in medical technology, it can blow your mind. To prove that, we're bringing you the story of Brad Carter, a 39-year-old musician and actor. Carter has appeared on various TV shows, including "CSI." Carter had brain surgery recently, and you have to see it to believe it. Thanks to Vine, Twitter, and the power of the Internet, now you can.Carter was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2006. He started experiencing hand and eye tremors, which caused him to lose his ability to play the guitar. Doctors at UCLA Medical Centerperformed a deep brain-stimulation surgery, which involves implanting an electrode emitter to affected areas of Carter's brain. Surgeons had to awaken Carter during the surgery to make sure they were implanting the electrode emitter in the right part of his brain. The article is new, but the video is really old. I remember seeing it posted in one of the LMAO Pics threads. [editline]oh hamburgers[/editline] Oh, nevermind. It's a different guy doing the same thing.
Not late, but it's been done before by a different person.
I was hoping for him to be playing a rad heavy metal riff while the surgery took place.
"We're sorry, but this video is not availible in your location"
I remember seeing a video of a guy playing the banjo during brain surgery, he was kind of playing a constant, but slightly improvised little riff thing so the surgeons could check they weren't fucking up. It's a good idea, I guess.
I thought it was fairly normal procedure to have them doing a task while going through brain surgery; to make sure they aren't brain-dead from a fuck up
I'd sing raindrops keep falling on my head, can't play the guitar that well and a conversation would scare the shit out of me.
didn't some other guy do the same thing only with violin?
Metal as fuck.
