What kind of Tatoos did people have in the 1970's? - General

Just wondering how people were judged that had tatoos in the 1970's, and what kind of people got them, and what kind of tattoo was popular.

Probably a pot leaf or peace sign or some shit.

Thinking about it I have never seen one done in the 70's but I can't imagine it would have been too popular at the time as they had more of a collective mindset than we do now'er days.

In the '70s you would still see America traditional tattoos (Sailor Jerry style), but also, single needle tattooing was starting to emerge out of California. It was influenced by Latino prison tattoos and pioneered by Jack Rudy and the other guys at Good Time Charlie's. However, during the '70s, tattooing hit one of it's lowest points of popularity and would have been seen most commonly on sailors, bikers, soldiers, etc.

In my experience, it's pretty much been the same stuff for the last 40 or so years... Tribal things, and animals never seem to go out. Tribal patterns, Eagles, Fairy's..
