I'm really not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing...
Might get this. Always wanted to try out the Doom franchise.
Please be on Steam, please be on Steam, please be on Steam.... (but only if its better than the original) I LOVED playing Doom 3. I think I already finished it 3 or 4 times, and it seems like every time I get a bad flu, I have to play it.
I have to say, for it's time doom 3 had some really well done scripted sequences. Shame that the lights were always out.
mildly interested
Might get this. Always wanted to try out the Doom franchise.
start with Doom 2 if anything, please
armour mounted flashlight?? Having to switch from flashlight to gun was half the fun!
it will probably be toggle-able (hopefully, if not the modding community would probably solve the issue)
if it has a updated 16:10 support, i will buy it

How come it says on their youtube video, 're-mastered for PlayStation 3'? So no re-mastered on PC? or maybe they messed something up in their description.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo69OsqA3Wc
I have to say, for it's time doom 3 had some really well done scripted sequences. I hope this costs less than Doom 3 at release though, but since its more than one game...
Doom 3 is on steam, wouldn't be surprised if this was as well.
Thing is, I can get the ID super pack which has this, or get this upcoming pack. The ID super pack has alot more games, which might make it a better buy. But I'm interested in the differences from this to the original.
I've paid for this game retail and I've paid for it as part of the Quakecon pack, yet I've never actually played it. I'll likely cough up a third pile of cash to get the BFG edition provided it's on sale like the other two. The listed changes in this are sorta putting me off playing the regular edition, to be honest.
Awesome!
oh 2004
I was gonna say Doom3 isn't that dark, but then I rememebered how some parts of the game are ACTUALLY pitch black, like the part where you have to escort a scientist with a lantern as the only light source around. There was also your flashlight, but for that matter, there were also enemies throwing their shit at you... Also, look at the =C in the rock.
Doom 3 was a good game, but it wasent a good Doom game
Doom 3 is on steam, wouldn't be surprised if this was as well.
I can almost guarantee this is on steam, they've been messing with Doom 3 in the CDR.

Plus armour mounted flashlight, But I hope that is optional. They'll probably reveal more closer to release.
Doom 3 was a good game, but it wasent a good Doom game
IMO it was good the first time, but it has really no 'replay-ability'.
I was hoping the new engine features would be implemented in the current Doom 3 code. I guess this means no io-doom3 updates then :(
Making improvements over Doom 3 is quite unnecessary, thanks to released id Tech 4 source code. Overall, I think this was made for reminding players about Doom, so they would be ready for Doom 4.
2012 may be the year we finally hear about Doom 4 at QuakeCon.
"Hey, guys, let's release a bunch of news about Doom and tease Doom 4 in the months before QuakeCon and then when QuakeCon hits let's say FUCKING. NOTHING."
Woah shit that's good news, having never played first or second doom I really loved Doom 3, Although it would be great if they integrated sikkmod somehow because from that trailer it looks exactly the same as it was before.
Only thing that interests me out of this is proper widescreen support and the new levels. Other then that I already own Doom 1 and 2.
I already own every Doom game on steam. The only thing I would get out of this is the mounted flashlight and new levels, so I hope they update the doom 3 with that.
Man, I remember being 8 and playing through Doom 3. My dad always used to do the scary parts for me. :v:
