I hope the NPC villages are just villages full of creepers.
Oh, this'll be good.
Excited, for once, about a Minecraft update. Should be interesting to actually see the game expanded upon with some bigger features.
I want a damn performance update, mainly. Minecraft should just be rewritten anyway. Although looking forward to this update, sort of. Lets hope he doesn't spend the rest of the week fixing what should actually be working.
I wonder what leveling would bring. Increased stats?
I haven't been able to get back into minecraft recently these concepts would totally do it for me, would love loot but not sure if that would work
I do think there need to be modes (survival, adventure, sandbox) though so not to remove the feeling of the game as it was
I bet it'll be bigger than 1.2 update.
This is very ambitious, and considering it takes them a month to release any decently sized updates, I'm wondering how long this will take to come out.
Might actually get me playing Minecraft again, though.
I just hope Minecraft will reach one certain stage where the world is generating country's with flags and shit like that. Dangerous lands or maybe a country with loads of villages and city's.
But yeah, only if Notch had a bigger team :allears:
I'd like to be able to populate villages and such. Build them, then populate them. I have three already built in one world. One of which is a massive city like the Imperial City in Oblivion. A central, walled off city with outlying sections of it. All in all, I know I have room for at least 50 people. I'd like to see my hundreds of hours do something.
Seems like Notch is working overtime.
Has the ridiculous lag on mere mortal PCs/servers been fixed?

Fixed.

Time for payback
I think in the survival, the player should be in a last man on Earth situation, where he finds abandoned towns, mines, and places that humans mysteriously disappeared from. I don't think he should find living people, just enemy mobs and shit.\
I wish notch would get rid of the Pg shit and make MC an interesting game like a horror type. Honestly he could make in much bigger.
If we get NPC towns we better get to defend them from zombie horde attacks.
So notch is "burrowing" millianaire's idea? fantastic, notch is gaining the title of mod thief.

Burrowing? Is he a mole?

He ain't stealing anything. I think mob towns have been one of the oldest additions people has wanted on Minecraft.
oh sweet it's yet another thing that mods have been able to do for ages
Seriously, the modding community is MILES ahead of Notch in terms of content and optimization.
I like it. One of the best things about playing on multiplayer servers is finding little settlements, old campsites etc. Being able to find randomly generated stuff in singleplayer will be pretty awesome.
New mob, eh? Sure hope it's Pigmen, or maybe even a Vampire. (not the sparkly kind, the life-sucking demon kind. hell, it's an undead like the zombie and skeleton)
1.8 sounds like it's gonna be awesome, but I still hope there's a bit more than just Pistons and bugfixes in 1.7, maybe those Huge Mushrooms.

Well, to be fair, Notch is just one man. And I'm guessing everyone else at the office is either working on Scrolls or posting useless Twitter updates.
cant wait :D

No he's not. Mojang is a team of going on 13 people now worldwide. Notch has at least two other coders working with him, one of which is better than he is at working on the game anyway (Jens).

Jeb has said that the 1.7 update will include shears, fence on fence(presumably torch on fence too), the fix for redstone repeaters, in addition to pistons. The new lighting isn't in, unfortunately.

They are working on a C++ version of Minecraft, that should probably speed some things up.

(You wouldn't believe how long it took me to find that.)

It's already confirmed that Jeb made a scary monster.
So it's not Pigman.
