I just want to show off some multilevel paper silhouettes I made over the past two days. They take about two and a half hours each with photoshopping, printing, cutting, and gluing.
I started yesterday with just an idea. I took an image of Gordon Freeman into Photoshop, desaturated it, applied the cutout filter and did some cleaning up around the rough edges so cutting would be easier but also trying to preserve edge fidelity.

After that I printed each layer, cut it out (very carefully) and glued it together. Here's the final product:

I want to try printing in color next so I get a tinted picture once I put light through it. Any feed back would be awesome!

Pretty cool idea, nice use of shading.
