this is the worst thing to happen at all anywhere ever
Make good games. Promote it on popular channels and you've done everything you can. If your game looks unappealing then too bad, your game looks unappealing.
The "mainstream" indie games are mainstream because they've done good. Whining about not getting your games sold because they aren't seen is so pretentious. That shit happens for big publishers as well and is pretty normal in any industry.
It also seems incredibly silly to give away the games for free for a limited time just to get them noticed. It really just labels them as shit games you wouldn't want otherwise and that attitude will be reflected in how you play the games and what you think about them. Most likely most people will just go "not a bad game, but not worth paying for".
We are the 99 percent!
Good god, I just want to groan until the end of time at this bundle's name. What a poor choice.
Why are indie bundles suddenly the new "make your own" fad?

We are not 99% gamers, we are all 100% gamers!
Although I'm a fan of the rising influx of bundles, that's just a stupid name.
How long before meaning of "indie" starts getting completely overused and lost
It's only a matter of time before big publishers start publishing "indie" games (which will make zero sense since they're exactly the opposite of that) that gain (if only a bit) more attention since they're indie
I'm not even sure what I was trying to say
Isn't even Valve technically an "independent game developer".

i think ea published a title or two by them

Probably not, I guess there's a few stockholders. Aside from that, they are.

Valve is privately owned

Yeah, if only they didn't "sell out" to consoles then they would be indie.
But they've also become publishers themselves, just not officially. Talking about the Steam store of course. It's really just a store like any other internet store be it for apps or games, but it's packed with so many features and used as DRM by several companies, indie or not, that it kinda classifies it as a publisher store. It's just that they don't bind people to their company.
valve isn't an indie game company, not even in the slightest.
if we use the same classifier for indie games as we do for indie rock it's the way the game gets out there. you can go buy Valve games at wallmart, that's definitely not indie.

Again, that's because "they sold out" to EA as their publishers.
We're not even implying that they are indie, but that they easily could be.

Activision has already started to exploit it by funding "indies"
this is a cool idea, can't wait to find some hidden gems from some unkown devs.

because "make your own" is basically the essence of indie developing. low-budget non-professional developers making games because they enjoy doing it.

I've actually seen some really good indie games that basically nobody's heard of that I would pay money for
Still for the most part, if a game really is that great it will usually get around.
