Chompski caused a technical error, the rocket missed it's target and flew into space instead. There it reached Wheatley's atmosphere and the rocket turned back to earth because Wheatley is so dense. The rocket crashed on 2fort, Gordon has to get some technical stuff from the Borealis and must sacrifice himself to close the portal in EP3. In Half Life 3 you will play John Freeman and kill the rest of the advisors. End of story.

I'm thinking it could be about the new content delivery system. Rockets are designed to deliver cargo quickly to different places, including other worlds. They're ultrafast, high-powered platforms. So, possibly, it means TF2 will be put on the new download system soon.

My dad took that picture months ago when I was at Valve and I uploaded it by mistake. I can assure you that it has nothing to do with L4D3 or any new IP.

I thought that was explained to be just some work that one of the concept artists did, having no relation to any project.
So that's where my Kerbal Space Program rocket landed.

Well, Gemini 10 was launched yesterday, 1966. The only other important thing was Mein Kampf was published yesterday, 1925, but I really doubt it was that.
here's my theories, in order of probability (from least probable to most):
1. The Pyro is and alien (not likely)
2. The Engineer built a rocket. this could also make up for the fact that he totally got the shaft during the uber update (pretty likely)
3. According to a friend of mine, these look like the rocket you put Gnome Chompsky into in HL2 to get the achievement... and the file name for these rockets is "grocket". grocket=Gnome+Rocket. Half Life 3. (idk, but this makes a hell of a lot of sense...)
This is definitely not the HL2:EP2 rocket.
