This is awesome news, I have been wanting to play it for a few weeks now.

I reinstalled it from Steam, ran the "launchGTAIV.exe" in admin mode and it works perfectly.

I don't think this patch does anything for performance unfortunately.

Can anyone explain how this would happen? Some sort of race condition between rendering and logic threads?

Reading in the community hub on steam apparently it broke the game and all save games aren't compatible anymore

I saw this and just loaded my game up, everything's working fine for me.

Must be a per user problem. Also it's nice they finally removed the club login when you start the game up, since they haven't had the service running for a few years now, since GTA5 came out.
