When you use your existing Microsoft Points to initiate a purchase or redeem a Points card with your Microsoft account later this year, we’ll deposit into your account an amount of money equal to or greater than the marketplace value of your Microsoft Points, and your Microsoft Points will be retired. The purchased funds you deposit into your account after the transition will not expire. However, the funds we deposit into your account at the time of the transition will expire one year from the deposit date."
This is fucked up. I have $20 worth of points and haven't even found anything I want to use them for. And for some dumb fuck of a reason, Microsoft doesn't let you buy gold months with your points.
Buy trials evolution
Buy Minecraft even if you have the PC version. The console version is great for splitscreen
And the trainwreck continues
Same thing the Wii did, it isn't exactly that easy currency wise to change points into your local currency without a ton of problems occurring from the transfer.

Perhaps I'm not reading it correctly but it sounds like you have one year after the transition to spend your local currency that was converted from your Microsoft points. It's not the lack of local curency, it's how MSP works. 1600 MSP = 20 USD How the fuck does that make any sense? At least the Wii has 100 points = 1 USD.

And once again - not possible in germany. Just like prepaid phone cards, expiring credit is not legal.
And the trainwreck continues
In what way is this a bad thing??
Whatever am I going to do when I lose my 86 mspoints.
Uh did anyone read the article, or are you guys just ridin the "LOL MICROFAIL" bandwagon? They're reimbursing anyone with points
Uh did anyone read the article, or are you guys just ridin the "LOL MICROFAIL" bandwagon? They're reimbursing anyone with points
They convert and still expire in a year. I don't see why they need to expire them at all.
Did anyone read the article?
... It's saying that they will deposit funds into your account equal to the amount of MS points you had previously, the funds they deposit at that time expire in one year. jesus christ
... Microsoft is screwing you over and there is nothing you can do about it! Wait... Free Market Capitalism... Choices..
Money redeemed for the PlayStation Network and the Nintendo eShop do not expire.

Buy Minecraft even if you have the PC version. The console version is great for splitscreen
dunno why this is being rated dumb splitscreen is a blast
Why will people buy this console.
I really don't see the point in why they need to expire in a year, Facebook did this when they had the FB coin/gold system and it was a huge flop because nobody was willing to have a virtual wallet on FB to load up your Farmville shitty games.
Why will people buy this console.
Exclusives. As I said in another thread, if you are a Halo fan there really isn't any other recourse.
I thought they always expired after a year.
Use what ever remaining MSP for avatar stuff,DLCs and cheap games
Why not just buy whatever's going to appear in the summer of arcade.
Microsoft is really making it hard to avoid the hate bandwagon.
dunno why this is being rated dumb splitscreen is a blast
Just the bandwagon effect. Move along.
Buy trials evolution
State of Decay
"You will begin using local currency or an Xbox Gift Card (denominated in your local currency) to buy music, games, videos, and more from your favorite Xbox stores.
Why would one even buy music on the Xbox? I buy albums and such, but it just seems stupid to buy music on the Xbox. Also, what videos are they talking about? Movies and such?
Buy Minecraft even if you have the PC version. The console version is great for splitscreen
I dont get how this is dumb
