• How do I downgrade my iPod Touch
    6 replies, posted
I recently got a BRAND NEW iPod touch, and by recently I mean yesterday. I had a problem with my old touch where it wouldn't hold a charge, my old thread about this is somewhere. Anyway I figured it was my iPods battery's fault, so Apple gave me a new one. I did the usual and it's still dying insanely fast. Then I realize its the software. The new OS 4.2 blows. Now I'm trying to downgrade and I have no clue how.
You don't that's how.
You can't.
I'm pretty sure there's a way.
Once the baseband is unlocked again it might be possible but as it stands right now the 4.2 is none downgradeable.

If you didn't manually back it up or have Cydia back it up for you, then you cannot downgrade back to any previous versions. Since 4.1 is the primitive firmware for iPod Touch 4th Gen, you simply can't downgrade it.
