I gave up on the cloak because there isn't much time to even use it right, might be a nice collector's item after all that for the sake of personal pride but nothing more, or perhaps transmog.
The legendary cloak was the dumbest thing ever done in WoW, it was basically mandatory, so if you wanted to raid on a new level 90 or an alt, you couldn't really get into heroic raids. :v:

Yea...I just want it for what Grindigo said, for collectors sake.

This is the least true thing. People that do actual heroic raiding just want good players, your gear generally means fuck all in terms of being able to down a herioc boss this is proven every single time with progression raiders, if you are 550+ and a good player you can easily do heroic with or without the cape.
Those are some serious patch notes holy shit. Mats stacking up to 200? What a time to be alive.

I'm talking about people who has heroic experience with multiple classes. Having to farm the mats and all the bullshit for the cloak on multiple characters is the most boring thing I've ever done in WoW.

Really only thing thats so horrible about it for alts is the horrible valor quest that is a 3 week thing no matter what. Well, at least when the sigil/secrets/runestone buffs came in(not the prince buff but sigils and shit dropping in tot/soo)
If you were doing this across multiple toons required in a raiding guild throughout the expac, then yes I feel you, that shit is fucking horrible. At least Blizzard has said the stupid collectathon bullshit is going away and focusing more on harder encounters and skill, probably more shit like that ToT legendary scenario, or even better, the green fire warlock scenario, that shit was pure fucking skill(at least in my shitty gear at the time)
This is cool
I expected just a sudden transition, not a linearish smooth transition

Every expansion has done this except maybe vanilla--->tbc(honestly cannot remember) Wotlk had the best pre-patch ever since it came along with the most butthurt video game event done by a company and level 70 ret pallys went from one of the worst dps classes to one of the most OP. Cata had a prepatch, and MoP.
I dont know how it will end up this time, but every pre-expansion patch ive played during everyone is like OP as fuck and its so fun, but since they are being a lot smarter with scaling I dont know if this will be the case, but a fuckload is changing so who knows.
I still think the best pre-launch was WOTLK's Zombie Outbreak, on my server Oceanic literally Stormwind was the last surviving bastion for alliance players and Org was near to breaking point

My warrior still has the zombie outbreak plate armor :v:

The only thing better gear let you do was tank Felguards slightly easier and give you more time before Doom killed you, though if you abused mechanics properly you could buy yourself more than enough time regardless of gear. People in quest blues have done the quest. It's pretty well designed.

For awhile yeah but now with normal/herioc SoO gear you can cheese it pretty hard as destruction, you just damage him too fast and so fucking hard on top of insane destruction aoe that you skip so much of the fight.

Yeah I just learned this
I've played since burning crusade, but I've never played all the way up to the expansions release, and generally started the expansion like a month after it started.
I'm still pissed that [sp]Garrosh was killed by Thrall[/sp] in Warlords of Draenor.
Really wanted some more development on that end.

But we are getting exactly that.[sp] Pretty sure the Garrosh story will take place across a few zones ultimately ending at the end of Nagrand quest storyline.[/sp]
