Basically my friend is about to buy a Ati Radeon 5770 graphics card so he tried to check if his power supply can meet the minimum requirements and the only thing it said on the power supply is 230v with no mention of how many watts it is.
So is the current power supply ample or does he need to buy a new one?
Take the side off the computer and look. If you can't find anything on the PSU (you may have to take it out of its mount) then google the model number of the computer
It didn't say on the side of the power supply so I shall try your other suggestion.
We cant say if your psu is powerful enough when you dont say how many watts it output. Is it a OEM(Buildt by HP, Acer etc) pc or a homemade?
Mystery solved he has a 460w Cooler master power supply so he is installing the 5770 now.
Watts = amps x volts
Then take that wattage, and multiply that by the efficiency.
Voila.
