Ok, before you lumberfucks suggest "google it" I have already done that and I am sick of it being suggested, thanks. So, I had this PS3 in a while and all of sudden I got the urge to play a PS2 game, but I found out it is not compatible with PS2 formatted software. So, facepunch, is there a way/program/hack that enables my PS3 to play PS2 games?
As far as i remember, the older PS3 models had it, and it was hardware-based. So i guess there is no way
Aren't there a bunch of emulators floating around out there for this?
No, but Sony are making a legit one... slowly
Go trade your PS3 for one of the original "fat" ones, then you'll be able to play PS2 games.
You just have to wait. [editline]26th February 2011[/editline]
Go trade your PS3 for one of the original "fat" ones, then you'll be able to play PS2 games.
Has to be the 60GB fat one.
No, but Sony are making a legit one... slowly
Well, they only patented the method to run Emotion Engine code on the Cell Processor. No idea if they are actually going to implement that. Considering that some PS3s had Software emulation on launch there was no reason to remove it, as it would have costed them nothing to keep it in. But they did anyway.
only these can play ps2
See, if you actually HAD googled it, you would have seen what rampageturke has posted....

Just on a random note. I have the 60GB Fat PS3 from Europe. Does it have Hardware PS2 support or is software?

Protip for next time: Don't call the people who will potentially help you "lumberfucks". What kind of help can you expect with that...
What the hell is a "lumber fuck"? some one who has sex with lumber?
