It's always been like that in Forza, and it was the same in TDU. You'd unlock the cars with real money, then acquire them in-game with credits.

It was fine in Forza 4 with its generous rewards (only one or two DLC cars had outrageous 1+ million credit pricetags), but Forza 5 really cut back on credit rewards from races from what I've heard.
