Hey hows it going. Could only be arsed asking this now and I have had these speakers for the past 2 years.
Basically I have 7 speakers, all creative.
They are Creative SB X-Fi, I bought them as an addon to my Dell (Dont laugh).
Basically though, I don't think they have the best sound, and I am fairly sure that I could be getting great sound out of them.
The problem is that, for 7.1 speakers, it doesn't sound like music is all around my room, it mainly sounds like it comes from the 3 in front of me. I have fiddled with the settings and all that, and I can make the back ones louder, but whenever I change my volume using the volume knob, I think it just resets.
Any help here would be sweet guys thanks, just anything in general with getting the best sound possible from your speakers. Thanks.
Also, would there be a way to get another cable and have the speakers also work for my PS3?
What sound card do you have? I am sure it depends on how good quality they are depends on your sound quality.
Any music you want to play through 7.1 speakers has to be formatted for 7.1 speakers (i.e. 7 channels of audio). Most music is stereo (2 channels). Try doing a movie with 5.1 or 7.1 surround (Avatar, Star Wars/Trek, LOTR, etc) and see if surround sound works then.
Its a Creative X-Fi, thats what it says. Oh well can I not make music sound better at all?
