Does anybody have some metal in a major key, that isn't power metal? Stuff like this:

Most metal is in a minor key, isn't it?

Most of it is in major I believe
Steve Vai, John Petrucci, etc John Petrucci - Glasgow Kiss And here's a major key metal song I wrote :v: (shameless plug)

There isn't much metal that is written solely in a major key for the entire song. I'm pretty sure that Black Sabbath song right there changes key multiple times for example.
Yes I know its metalcore.
Yes I know its metalcore.
It's a shame their guitarists and drummer are in such a generic band.
Most metal key that is considered 'major key' is actually in mixolydian mode, but I hate being that guy.
It's a shame their guitarists and drummer are in such a generic band.
Their guitarist actually is quite a beast shredder, I dunno about the drummer.

What the actual chords are is irrelevant.
http://www.facepunch.com/forums/262-Music On a side note, I'm not really familiar with major key metal to be honest.

But never mind they are both great sounding modes
I thought mixolydian was major aswell
If I remember correctly (my modes are pretty rusty) Mixolydian is just the same as the major scale that starts on the same note, but with a flat 7. So it still sounds pretty majory, just different.
Mixolydian is a major mode but something is generally considered major key if it follows the major scale rather than a major mode, which would make it modal. But let's not make this all bent. Moar content anyone?
[editline]1st January 2011[/editline] ok so it's mixolydian but whatever
*snip*
I know this isn't the kind of metal you are looking for, but I still think it's worth posting
