Awesome, now we don't have to revive the old SH thread anymore.
Tried rebuilding my Toa Nuva recently. I was largely successful, but Lewa is missing an arm and a leg. I feel like there's a joke about buying something expensive to be made here.
Now that I have a job, it's taking me so much effort not to go on Amazon and start ordering all of the old Bionicle sets that I lost years ago when my Mom accidentally donated all of them to Salvation Army. Maybe after I build my new PC I'll start doing it.

No regrets.
So continuing from the other thread...I went to storage and got my Bionicles. [t]http://i.imgur.com/tsvZNfy.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/jjYOaeC.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/Nis4oK7.jpg[/t]
Seeing that Ehlek makes me remember how brittle the lime joints were back in 2007 to the end of Bionicle. 2007 especially, more poor Hahli Mahri and Lesovikk. Also Maximos was badass.
I have a whole big box full of miscellaneous bionicle parts in my attic I really should bring them down sometime and start building shit, I LOOOVE Bionicle so much
Dooo it and post some pics.
I loved the comics before they ended and am pretty excited at the prospect of them being relaunched. I only in the last year or so of the comics began to like the series but I still have about 12-15 sets that I got with allowance and as birthday/christmas gifts. I remember having so much fun creating custom characters with those pieces, too.
The only bionicle I still have is Toa Inika Hahli. I lost the launcher somewhere so now it's like, the lamest bionicle ever
I remember they were gonna re-release the comics as a collection of graphic novels, did they ever actually do that?
Dooo it and post some pics.
I guess I will when I get the chance! I feel slightly bad that I never really kept any of the figures together, but I had so much fun building stuff and making awesome heroes and shit
I guess I will when I get the chance! Fuck, I really regret throwing out all my comics dating back to the 2006 ones. I have my Bionicles laying around somewhere but I'm sure I'm missing lots of pieces...
Building them was the best part imo that Makuta that I have took me like an hour to build.
I spent a long time building Makuta, then I ended up disassembling him and using him for other cool ideas i had. I think I had Makuta Nuva built for awhile but then i ended up taking it apart and making other stuff
I had no idea Makuta Nuva was a thing.
That might not have been it's name but it was the model you could make by combining Takua Nuva and Makuta together, it was really sick [editline]26th November 2014[/editline] Ah his name was Takuta Nuva, not Makuta Nuva He looked like this
[t]http://i.imgur.com/MolXhSI.png[/t] I got Takutanuva alright, as a birthday gift from my bf. There's some things to consider if you want to build him though; he's got exactly one stable pose and you're looking at it. If you try to do the pose in the image above he'll drop like a rock. He's also got two gear functions. You can make him rotate his torso at the waist or lift his arms up which is hard as hell to use because trying to turn that gear is like trying to tear off a barnacle.
only one pose? step it up senpai [t]http://i.imgur.com/Ou2r7nu.jpg[/t] takutafriend reporting in
Here's stuff i have build and kept (i have much more custom stuff built but i didn't make pics of anything else) [t]http://i.imgur.com/ic3C1tv.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/9YmEGRB.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/iBjFsF3.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/IkULDON.jpg[/t] (those are also my entries for the golden mask)

I'd rather have all three figures than what is essentially a slightly larger version of the latter.
I kind of regret not playing with Bionicles that much, when this whole Bionicle universe thing got big I was at that age where you kind of stop playing with such toys because it was not "cool" enough. I had the slizers though and loved them so much.
Greetings and salutations, as you may remember from my posting in the Bionicle revive news thread, I have spent the last few weekends digging up my old Bionicle collections and reassembling them to the best of my ability, as of right now there's a good amount of sets that I've fully reassembled, or at least have done so to the fullest of my current capacity, so here's some pictures: First of all we have the "Stars" line, I believe these were actually the last line of Bionicle sets, made and sold after the first set of Hero Factory hit shelves, there were "rereleases" of previous generation characters, meaning that it was actually six completely new sets dressed up as earlier characters, each one also came with a golden piece to stick onto Tahu, I only had two, so I can't demonstrate all of that, but you can see the golden mask at his feet (Gresh came with a piece of shoulder armor, so didn't want to put that on lopsided), and no sadly the masks in this set were not the same part as the originals, they're slightly smaller and use a different connector to fit the newer heads. I included the box on this one because I actually found them fully assembled in their canisters, memory serving I got these while on vacation and put them back in there for the return trip. [t]http://i.imgur.com/JoUKXX7.jpg[/t] Rather strangely one of the Stars I got was Gresh, who was also one of only two Glatorians I had, along with Mata Nui because Mata Nui. I had more Agori than Glatorian, memory serving at this point the prices of the bigger sets were quite high, these were also a lot bigger than the Stars [t]http://i.imgur.com/PydF4KA.jpg[/t] Before the Glatorians we had the Phantoka and the Mistika, Phantoka being a flying themed series, Mistika were swamp themed, some of these were actually pretty cool, but Onua got totally ripped off, his only weapon was the standard Blaster everyone else got, but with a bulky shield that made him hold it two handed. I actually had another Mistika, specifically Gali, in fact between my brother and I we had two of them, but unfortunately mine got a bit chewed up by the dog, and my brother's was disassembled beyond the amount of repair I could do over the time period I had. The white one is a matoran, because they were still trying to make those guys not useless at this time [t]http://i.imgur.com/1fGN6Tx.jpg[/t] And of course where there's heroes there have to be villains, and the Phantoka/Mistika actually got some pretty badass villains, their designs were based on insects and bats, sadly I only had two [t]http://i.imgur.com/iTtPTjk.jpg[/t] Now, going further back we had the Toa Mahri, I'll admit several of these are missing their blasters because I just couldn't bloody find them, so for reference all of them are supposed to have at least one of the multibarreled Kordak blasters, with the exception of the green guy who was supposed to have two, and sadly is in the worst condition of the bunch, missing an armor piece and part of his oxygen tank that I couldn't find because his set was technically my brother's and he stores his parts in a different graveyard that I wasn't able to exhume as thoroughly, and some of his parts may be lost forever and in need of replacement [t]http://i.imgur.com/AfYDDrX.jpg[/t] Honestly I'd be willing to say the Mahri were the best of the Bionicle sets, the environment was unique, the matoran had some actual significance, and all of the Toa were uniquely put together. My favorite of the set is probably Matoro, godspeed you magnificent bastard. [t]http://i.imgur.com/wBZdi3X.jpg[/t] The villains for this set were primarily the Barraki, which again I didn't get all of, honestly a lot of these villains had some creepy designs, and once again the Mahri Nui saga takes the cake in my opinion [t]http://i.imgur.com/l8LmCg9.jpg[/t] The Barraki also had a strange weapon that was both the most and the least practical of the launcher weapons in all of Bionicle, these "squid launcher" weapons were useful in that they were the only ones actually designed primarily for human hands, meant to be looped around the trigger finger; however they were impractical in their method of launching, which involved hooking the squid's head into the chamber, then pulling and stretching the tail back over the launcher and letting it go to fire. While I intend to run some thorough ballistics and accuracy tests on the arsenal of Bionicle weaponry I have at my disposal (Midaks are probably gonna come out on top), I think I'm gonna leave these out just because I don't want to break anything, and I have very few squid. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ieYQCGM.jpg[/t] Moving along (all puns very much intended), we have the Inika. These sets had some problems, a lot of people were disappointed by the proprietary heads, but I still enjoyed them for what they were as story characters, and as ugly as they may have been, I still think they looked better than the Nuva. These were also where the design for shoulder mounted and multi shot weapons came from, each one of their launchers (some are again missing) had a three round hopper giving it a total capacity of 4 rounds, although I was able to chain them up to 10 rounds before the curve was sharp enough that they fell out or failed to feed. Sadly my Matoro Inika has suffered the most from parts yellowing, I believe someone in the other thread had a suggestion on how to fix that, while speaking on discoloration I should also mention that some of them look a bit faded, that's actually just dust, quite a few of these were left completely intact on shelves and whatnot so they didn't get the dusting off that comes with a complete reassembly, I don't believe any of my older sets (and there are a lot of those) will have this problem. [t]http://i.imgur.com/bt9QOe6.jpg[/t] Oh and some of you may remember that the Inika had light up weapons, all of mine still work. [t]http://i.imgur.com/NFpIq7U.jpg[/t] That's all for now, I'm gonna do some more work over Christmas break, I have a good selection of sets going just about all the way back, most of them are in parts, some were actually never put together fully, I have a Vezon-and-Kardas set that I didn't finish and still has some of its parts in original bags, and a Metru Nui matoron, a Bohrok Va, and a Brutaka all still in sealed boxes.
i prefer toa mata/nuva
The thing I liked about the Mahri is that each one was completely unique in its design, the Mata, Nuva, and Inika, for the most part, were the same set in different colors with the differences coming in mask and weapon, of course these weren't as bad as a certain other line that I will talk about when I finish reassembling them (how on earth do their heads keep falling off in storage? those things are so hard to put on). The Mahri were just so much more distinctive than any of the others. Heck what kept me from posting these for so long is that Matoro's head is held on by a foot in his chest and I couldn't find the right connector to attach said foot.
-snip, didn't know as much as I thought I did-
