Senior research analyst David Gibson has recently stated via Twitter that Konami has a “smaller” Metal Gear game planned for this year, while Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain wouldn’t be out till the fiscal year ending Marc 2015. Wait, an unnanounced MG is coming out THIS YEAR but MGS5 is out in 2015? Strange.
i hope its an hd remake of metal gear solid 1
I hope its an HD remake of the first 3 games all in one.
Metal Gear Touch 2 for iOS and android
Metal Gear Touch 2 for iOS and android
The fires of my rage would be visible from space. I hope its a fox engine remake of MGS1. And MGS2. And MGS3.
Metal Gear Rising 2: Back to the Revengance?
Metal Gear Rising 2: Back to the Revengance?
MGR came out this year dude. [editline]-[/editline] Wait, how is this dumb, Rin? Its a fact.
wow i thought it was coming out this year lol
wow i thought it was coming out this year lol
Hey, on the bright side, more time to make a game already looking pretty much perfect into something even more pretty much perfect.
Isn't he talking about Ground Zero for the smaller one?
Isn't he talking about Ground Zero for the smaller one?
No, Ground Zeroes is part of MGS5.
Honestly this seems like something they would do for a final collection before closing on the series for good. And if it happens I really do hope it's done by Kojima themselves (none of that third party bullshit since they'll just screw up the remakes horrifically).
I would imagine a final collection to close out the series for good would be a fox engine remake of every game.
Could be a mobile game. I wanted it in 2014 but I'd rather a great delayed game than a rushed, flawed one
No, Ground Zeroes is part of MGS5.
They're two separate games. Kojima confirmed this.
They're two separate games. Kojima confirmed this.
Well not really, Konami has been saying different and they are apparently the same game. [editline]15th August 2013[/editline] Besides, this game is "unnanounced" and Ground Zeroes was announced last year.
I never played msg
I never played msg
Get the HD collection/Legacy collection (PS3 only).
Strangely enough Yoji Shinkawa, the dude that usually draws MG art, was painting this recently: Linked from post A MGS1 Meryl? What.
am I the only one who thinks MG1/MG2 need a Remake more than MGS1.??
Could be a mobile game. I wanted it in 2014 but I'd rather a great delayed game than a rushed, flawed one
It still could come out next year, they said it would be out fiscal year ending March 2015, which means between April 2014 and March 2015, sometime within that year. Whether it actually does or not, we'll see I guess. I agree with you that a delayed game would be better if they iron out potential issues.
This gives them more time to polish MGS V!
HD remake of MGS4, you heard it here first, folks
Got a feeling that the "Smaller" title might be Metal Gear's first original step onto the Vita. AC!D 3, Calling It.
I mean I would get it if I had the money. Always wanted to try it since it seems to have alot of fans and whatnot. Same thing with animal crossing, i always hear people talk about that game but i've never goten around to playing it
am I the only one who thinks MG1/MG2 need a Remake more than MGS1.??
MGSV is leading up to Metal Gear 1/2 If MGSV doesn't include the events of MG1/2, it's definitely coming.
No, Ground Zeroes is part of MGS5.
They're a part of the same game but there was discussion about releasing Ground Zeroes earlier than the full release to maintain interest because of the long path to a full release. Ground Zeroes is just the equivalent of Tanker Chapter or Virtuous Mission. I highly doubt this "smaller Metal Gear" is the Ground Zeroes early release but time will tell. I'm sure we'll just get hit with some mobile port no one will care about. No one should be surprised by a 2015 release date for MGS5.
So I know this might sound like me being a dick but, who is this analyst and why is his word trustworthy in this regard? I don't mind mgs5 not out till 2015 and getting a "smaller" MGS in the meantime but I don't see why I should trust this guy's word over konami's It's just weird seeing an analyst making bold statements like this and not the people behind the games themselves imo
I think that release dates are stupid, because then there is a constraint on the time. I like it when developers don't have to rush to finish a game, and can take their time, as it allows them to put more content in the game. However, I am really glad that there is a new MGS coming out. I really wish they didn't announce it and just surprised everyone. Im still happy they haven't told the public about it, though!

Don't get me wrong, the final product would be brilliant but it's awful business practice
