I remember one incident I saw. Some little kid was getting too close to the cygnets of a family of swans. I warned the parents but they didn't pay any heed to it. Soon as I turned my back, there was a scream. When I looked, the kid was on her ass with a swan standing over her. The family dog rushed forward but was sent yelping with a good tuft of hair left behind in the swans' beak. The kid wasn't hurt, fortunately.
A swan is readly capable of breaking limbs with its' wings. Unsurprising, given the creature's bulk.
